Question about the passive in this sentence

「本当の最悪の避けるために、最悪より少しだけましな選択を余儀なくされる日々。」
Shouldn't there be が instead of を here by any chance? I don't see how indirect passive works in this sentence.
Edit: Or is it just 選択をする instead of 選択する here, nothing to do with indirect passive?

余儀なくされる is a set phrase.
余儀なくされるとは - 日本語表現辞典 Weblio辞書

余儀なくされる is passive of 余儀なくする, thus, 選択を isn't directly connected to される. In fact, 余儀なく選択をされる has a different meaning from 選択を余儀なくされる.

選択を余儀なくされる
"The subject is forced to make their choice."
The subject is the agent(= the one who chooses).

余儀なく選択をされる
"Someone other than the subject makes their choice. It is unavoidable for the subject and the subject is adversely affected by it."
This is indirect passive. The subject is not the agent. The agent is indicated by に.

～が余儀なくされる is not wrong. This is mostly used for objective expressions, i.e., not for the speaker's/writer's things.

Because otherwise it would mean there is some oddball grammar exception or aspect of の that I was going to have to learn anew.
