preferred racial choice for a partner

Personality is far more important to me than looks anyway, but I find certain types of looks more attractive. I have to admit that my head is more often turned by a Chinese/Japanese/Korean-looking person. That doesn't make me racist. I just find a small, toned build, black silky hair, deep brown eyes and small facial features physically attractive. It's nothing more than an aesthetic reaction.

Well, there you go!

This is precisely what I've been trying to articulate. Your "choice" is not "based" on race - it comes into it, of course, but it's merely "frosting on the cake".

Best of luck, Bro!

Yes that is very true what you are saying. And I live in Oshawa, right by the GM plant no less :p

The racist word is really played and nonsense in this instance.

But what do I know, I'm a Caucasian married to a Vietnamese :-)

Just under 5 years now. We've lived together in Vietnam, Thailand and now the US. Looking forward to getting back to Asia.

Mr T, hi!
Wow, you must get fed really well then, vietnamese food is great!
Its the one place I really regret not going to while in SE asia... next year :D
I had a Vietnamese boyfriend when I was 20, cant remember what part he came from.
I lived with about 4 or 5 Vietnamese guys, they were lots of fun!

Welcome to the forum MrTudo !! Hope you have fun and post when you can.

I have always preferred a certain 'asian', if you will, look way back since about jr. highschool. I can find that type of look, however in several ethnic or 'racial' groups. In Japan you can often hear one talking about their 'type'--the girl I hitched up with, in appearance, is my type. I agree, the personality is important, and maybe in the long run, more so than looks, but it's usually the looks that trigger things in the 'mating game'. :-)

I don't believe having a preference for a particular race for your future partner isn't racist. Afterall, it is your life's future happiness we're talking about here, you have every right to go with what is going to make you the most happy. Plus, like it is said, a preference, just because one has preference for one race over another doesn't mean that person would look at other races in a negative light.

Myself, I am Chinese, and I would hope that my future wife would be Chinese aswell, it's just that I have always truly fallen for Chinese girls in the past. I've had "crushes" on Caucasian girls too but they didn't have the same magnitude of feel as with an oriental girl. The girl I'm attracted to right now is also Chinese.
