Hi I am an young Dutch military collector. Someone offered me a good luck flag. I always have found them very interesting. I want to ask you all if you can tell me if this is a real or fake flag and what’s written on it. I hope you could help me. Thank you very much.

Looks fake to me. All the writing is similar, and some of the kanji are simplified so much they resemble Simplified Chinese characters rather than Japanese kanji characters. Vertical line on what should be the far right says 祈武運長久 (Inoru buun chōkyū, or Good Luck in Battle).

I agree. It seems that the writer actually didn't know how to write kanji, and just copied examples (wrongly).
