Hi みなさん...

I have an oral presentation on thursday, and I want some feedback about my speech. Please help me correct any mistakes and/or tell me where I can improve my diction and grammar, as I know I will have made mistakes somewhere. It is for a high-school summer course, so it doesn't have to be "professional" or "businessman" sounding, just appropriate and semi-formal or even casual Japanese. Thank you in advance!


What I want to say in Japanese: 皆さん、私のトピクは 繁文 (しげる ぶん) です。通常 (つうじょう) の一つから十の特性 (とくせい)のほかに私達は毎日を今(こん) 使用 ( しよう) する、繁文では、もう一つの書（しょ）き方 （かた）が第一に十ある。( I write the traditional characters 1 to 10 on the board) この執筆 (しっぴつ) 方法は中国語および日本語で今頻繁(ひんぱん)に使用されないが、それらはまだ香港および台湾のお金札(さつ)で現 (げん) われる。それらがなぜそんなに使用されないか理由 (りゆう )は見ることができるように、書き非常 (ひじょう) ににくいのである。但(ただし)し、それらはまだ学 (がく )んでが非常に興味深 (きょうみぶか)く、今あるものに元 (もと)の特性 (とくせい ) がいかに簡単 (かんたん)にされているかそれは私達に考 (こう)えを与(あずか)える。

What I want to say in English: Hey everyone, my topic is traditional chinese writing. Besides the usual, everyday way of writing 1 to 10 that we use now, there is another way of writing the numbers. ( I write the traditional chinese characters 1 to 10 on the board). This writing method isn't used much in Chinese and Japanese writing now, but it still appears on money bills used in Hong Kong and Taiwan. The reason why it isn't used much these days is because as you can see, they are very difficult to write. But they are still interesting to learn, as they give us an idea of how the numbers were simplified to what they are right now.


Please help me in improving the words usage and everything else to suit what I want to say in English accurately, or even polish it up, thank you so much!

First of all, are you going to explain about the Japanese numerals in kanji like "壹, 貳, 參..." in your presentation? If so, it's not 繁文/繁文体(はんぶん/はんぶんたい; the traditional chinese characters basically used in Taiwan) but called 大字(だいじ). Please refer to the pages below.

If I would say;
皆さん、私のテーマは大字(だいじ)についてです。
私達が現在(げんざい)毎日(まいにち)使(つか)っている一(いち)から十(じゅう)までの書(か)き方(かた)のほかに、もうひとつ別(べつ)の書き方があります。

この筆記(ひっき)方法は中国語および日本語で現在(げんざい)頻繁(ひんぱん)には使用されていませんが、香港および台湾のお札(さつ)に今(いま)でも見(み)られます。
これがあまり使用されない理由(りゆう)は、今(いま)見(み)たように、非常(ひじょう)に書きにくいからです。
但(ただ)し、それらはまだ学(まな)ぶのに非常に興味深(きょうみぶか)く、どうやって数字(すうじ)が現在のように簡単(かんたん)にされてきたかというアイデアを私達に与(あた)えてくれます。

As Toritoribe has highlighted, there are a good many unnatural points/errors beginning with 繁文. What is 繁文? Are you talking about red tape/tedious formalities ?

I personally also don't believe in assisting with tests or even homework. Try to find a level that you're more comfortable with. This is a way beyond where you seem to have reached with Japanese. IMHO. Cheating is not only deceptive to the instructor but short-cuts the hard work of knocking material into your mind through sheer repetitious effort. No pain no gain is the maxim of any learning process. Hell, it's internet forgery. Pure and simple. Unless there is a compelling reason the class didn't provide adaquate preparation towards completion of the exams, working off the efforts of others presents an obviously unfair advantage to the other students.
