Pictures/descriptions of local areas

Boy I am enjoying all these too !! Now I feel that I've gotta buy a good camera. . . like the one Mike Cash has. MM

It has been quite a while since I took these pictures.
It's no longer bamboo shoot or wistaria season, but here goes!

Bambooshootharvest-1.webp

Bamboo shoots harvested at a neighbor's little farm. We got a couple of these fresh shoots and enjoyed the taste of spring! 👍

Bamboo shoots before being dug up. These shoots are best when the tip has yet to show up above ground. The green buds are already showing in the pic, but they were delicious nevertheless.

Wistariainbloom-1.webp

The wistaria ("fuji" in Japanese) in full bloom at a local shrine. The shrine is well-known for its wistaria, which had been planted there centuries ago and is popularly known as "Millennium Wistaria (Sennen Fuji)." The current plants are roughly 50 years old.

Closeup of the wistaria. The fragrance is sweet (slightly on the heavy side) and beautiful.

Sarapva, Epigene, those are some beautiful pictures!! 👍 I especially like the Wistaria or whatever they're called.. Good stuff. :-)

Yes, thanks Epigene! I've seen wisteria like that around here, too, but not as luxurious looking as that! We have some bamboo growing here, too, but I don't know of any farms. Usually it's in clumps of trees here and there.

Yo, Epigene!
Those were really delightful pics! I certainy enjoying looking at them!

👍
