Please help me. I want to have a pet rat (yes, I know that the tail is naked but It doesn't frighten me), And I don't know if japanese pet stores have them. How popular are rats in japan? How much do they cost. Thanks Oh and by the way, Aren't those smilies cute!!!!!?:haihai:

Hi Beata! Welcome to JREF!

The Japanese AllAbout website recommended this shop in Kamitakada, Nakano-ku:

Dizzypoint
http://www.dizzypoint.co.jp/map/

Although the number is still small, there seems to be rat lovers. If you can't go to this one, you need to check out pet shops in your area diligently. Ask for "ratto ツ(ニ停?ーニ鍛ニ暖ツ)."

Welcome to Jref Beata san !! That is an unusual animal to feel close to as a pet. . . but I guess rats can have their own certain charm.

I hope you stick around on the forum, and post when you can !! See you 'round !! MM

Hi Beata, welcome to the forum!

What kind of housing arrangement do you have in Japan? If you live in an apartment, you should definitely check its pet policy. I know some apartments allow the tenants to have small pets like birds, but it depends.

Anyhow, I don't think rats are so expensive, I have had hamsters and guinea pigs when I was a child, and remember they were pretty cheap.

how about lizards? any shops? place to buy crickets ^_^_^

Welcome to JREF Beata!! Interesting name by the way. Is that your real name? (Don't mean to be offensive.)

I'm pretty sure you'll find at least one pet store that sells rats in Japan. I've even seen a pet store that had a monkey on sale!! (Which I found pretty disturbing but that's beside the point.)

See ya!!

I once met a Polish girl call Beata.
Anyway, welcome to the forum. My brother once threatened to get a rat or two because he knew it would annoy my mother and stop her coming to his house unannounced. He settled for cats. I can see the confusion, rats, cats

Im interested in this to eheh Beata are you from Poland
nobody knows about shops for Lizards?
