So My Japanese friend I have been hanging out with recently for the past 2 or 3 months has decided she will go back to Japan in October for a month or 2. Well if given the OK by her parents, she has offered me the luxory of staying at her house for 2 weeks then I would come back by myself.
YATTAAAAAAAAAAAAA wait..... I don't know how comfortable this would be for either of us. I don't to feel like I am imposing but man would I love to go again. And stay for free but help out around the house. Stay with a full blown Japanese family should help my Japanese tremendously.

So what do you guys think. We have been friends for several months, I know about her and her family but she doesn't talk to me a whole lot about her personal life just stuff that relates to me. She has a boyfriend which I have never met. ☝ She should be buying her tickets near the end of August so I have time to think about it.

Also I wonder if she just offered her place b/c when I mentioned I wanted to go she said yeah you should go so we can hang out. Then I told her the hotels are expensive so I don't know If I could go.

She lives in Shizuoka, She said it is a small city and I might not like it. Anybody have any stories or thoughts on Shizuoka. Stuff to do I know she would know as it is her hometown but what about from a visitors point of view?

i know a ( most sexy japanese girl i know besides my own girl) girl who live there, i can give you her mail if you want ( dont **** around with her, or you will have problems with me LOL....

Google around!!!

it is for 2 weeks, not for months, so i think it wont be that bad,, but yeah... where would you rather stay, shizuoka or tokyo? goodluck with it micci

I don't care too much where I am staying. I just want to go to Japan again. Plus I wouldn't mind visiting a smaller area. She knows where everything is so I think it might be fun. Just she doesn't think she knows anybody that speaks english so this would be an interesting development in my studies. I think she lives in Hamada.

i been 3 times
yes. nobody speaks english
yes, there is NOTHING to do. pray for cable

also beware of rain

shizuoka does have fuji though. bring on them typhoons for the climbing...

Well Now I am planning on going to Fukuoka. Lok slike I'll be buying my ticket this month. I was thinking of going through travelocity as they are currently @ 870 with tax. not bad at all. ANybody have other suggestions?
I am not worried about hotels as I am staying with my lovely lady friend. (YEAH BABY YEAH, RANDY!) ahem anyway. Yeah anyother suggestions to maybe getting a cheaper flight? round trip I am aiming for MArch 9th to the 21st.

I found Priceline.com to have more reasonable prices than Travelocity for round trips to Japan. With tax and all, I paid $714 for my R.T. from Los Angeles to Tokyo last October. Too bad the $550 R.T. I had in 2001 still isn't around.

Well looks like travelocity still has the lowest published price. I am not going to purchase until mid january maybe end of january.

@Damicci

I'm not sure where you live, but if you've got a Japanese store, like a Marukai, nearby, you might want to see if they have an in-house travel agency. I got tickets to Japan just 2 months ago on Korean Air for about 575 including tax. You also might try inquiring within to see if anyone who works there knows of the cheapest company.

Most places are run by koreans, but I can ask around my Fav Sushi joint. good Idea thx.
