Man the Suite Rooms are f'ing nice! woohoo I can't wait to go.
She has never been there before so she wanted to take me there.
Not too mention for rooms like these prices are fairly cheap.

Normal room is about 100US 10000en
Suite Room is about 140US 14600en
Those are Week prices the rate goes up during the weekends like 50US 5000en.

I bought my ticket already. so I planned to be there probably in Jp time, march 11-23 I leave here 8 am 9th but with the time difference I figure i'll be there on the 11th. I forgot about that should have planned my trip a lil longer.

Since your flight will leave in the morning - the latest youll get there is next day 5pm to 7pm. Unless you've planned for major stopovers.

Yeah it said I should arrive on the 10th but I didn't know if that was Jp time or US. 16 hours is a big difference. but now I think about it flight is 19hrs sou literally it would 16 hours from the next day which would mean march 10th 9 am plus 16hours. Ok thx that clears up alot I can tell the gf to pick me on the correct day

Where in the U.S. are you leaving from? If you are leaving at 8:00 am on the 9th, you'll get there on the 10th (or the 11th in the wee hours). From Los Angeles, if the departure is on a Saturday at 2:00 PM, we would arrive Sunday at about 6:00 PM. The flying time from L.A. is 11 hours and the International Dateline is crossed in the mid-Pacific which will put you a day ahead. In any case, the plane ticket should tell you the arrival time and date in Japan.

Yeah it does, I am leaving from LA Tucson to LA to Narita to Fukuoka.
I wasn't sure b/c it seemed odd that i would be traveling 19 hours and with a 16 hour time difference still be arriving th enext day. but after actually figuring out the time it does make sense.

We had flown out of San Francisco at around 12:30 pm Monday, Jan. 9th, and touched down at Narita at around 4:30 pm Tuesday, Jan. 10th.

Will you guys have any time at all to at least swing up anywhere near the Matsumoto area? I mean if you do, I have the room here at the house, you guys can have the whole back room to yourselves (10 tatami) or you can have the whole upstairs in the dozo really to yourselves !! (about 14 tatami)

We can fire up the BBQ, and a good one !! Check with your girl and see if that's gonna be able to work into the schedule. . .it is a bit far from the Fukuoka area. Catch you later !!

It onsen really healthy for your skin? I've heard so much about how it should make the skin much cleaner, Tighter and prettier. And I would like to hear if any of you had any personal experience in this? either to strenghten or kill the myth.

ok ive talked the gf in going to an onsen.. now i need to find one that will let both of us in same pool near Tokyo.. well it doesnt have to be near, near, but near enough.. you know what i mean?

From a real old thread in here when I first joined. there was some talks about "non Gaijin" places. I believe I saw a picture with an Onsen with such a sign on... is it true that there are some Onsen where they do not allow us? It would be nice to know before you go in

And I would really like an answer to my first question posted a little before this one.

From what little I do know, there are some health benefits to regular onsen bathing depending on the onsen's water. Now as to making skin tighter and prettier, I'm not sure. . .it could be said to help in keeping a youthful appearance--or so I've heard. Again, the minerals in the water, and it's acidity, hardness, and so on, are important, so not just any ole place will do.

Yes, there are (or at least have been) some hotel-like onsen places which do not take to non-Japanese going there. Some which refuse service to non-Japanese. Such places are very, very few--judging from my experience, and there is probably no cause to worry.

The area I found most affected was the soles of my feet. Normally they're pretty tough and hard, but after a soak in an onsen they're soft and smooth. This is likely a result of the super hot temperatures, as well as how much you scrub before you get in, but it's a difference nonetheless.

The superstition surrounding onsen water is so great, some people buy bottles of the stuff to put in their ofuro at home, drink it, or add it to their cooking. This stuff usually isn't cheap either.

On a personal note, when my host dad was battling pancreatic cancer, my host mom used to drive 100km one way to go to a certain onsen. The onsen was said to have a special effect on the pancreas and he'd soak 4, 5 times a day. After that, he'd be a lot more energetic for about 4 days at a time, then have to go back. It could have all been psychological, but it certainly gave him more time to spend with his family.

Yeah I think the soft Skin goes with any form of hot temperatured water. Sounds bad too me if it affect the feet aswell since I need them to stay thick and hard.
It sounds more like an american idea, buying expensive Onsen water on bottle to put in coking and etc for medical uses (no offence to the american, but in general America has some alternative ideas)
