I feel a little bad about posting this, because the manager who did it is a great guy. Perhaps it's just an example of why engineers are engineers, not writers? This was sent to my coworker, who posts jobs for our company. Pay extra attention to the second to last sentence.
In the the recent past we have had little or no qualified interest in the [job title here] positions. We anticipated the same with the [job title in specific location] position. Therefore we sent through the paperwork with posting to the outside. Since the position was has become known to be vacant, [hiring supervisor] been contacted and discovered an un-expected internal interest by several qualified individuals. This is evidently due to the location being in [location]. The posting needs be posted interanally first. If you need me to come down and sign anything I would be happy to do so.
We're all a little nervous about what the job interview might entail...
