Has anyone seen this show? It is one of the funniest shows I've seen recently. The manager David has a very cynical sense of humor, loves his staff but behaves badly when his office is forced to emerge with another branch.

I just heard on NPR today that an American tv station(I don't know which one) had mimicked and made unfunny American version of it. The played a clip of both the original and mimicked one, and the American version was so bad that I feel sorry for David.

By the way, you can get the original "The Office" through Netflix, and I highly reccomend it to someone who likes office jokes.

The Office is a highly accaimed series. I am waiting to see what the American remake will be like but going on past experience of remakes of other British series, it isn't looking good. I'm not sure why channels like NBC have these remakes commisioned. In the UK we end up watching the original US shows but in the US, the major networks have to recreate them the UK ones.

Unfortunately The Office is no longer being made in the UK, it reached a second series and the writers decided to quit whilst at the top. Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are now working on a series called Extras which will star lots of famous people and will hopefully be as good as The Office.

the remake will never be able to match the original.. simple as that.. it's a moronic idea to begin with. The office is a stroke of pure genious and David (Ricky) is God.

The remake will be - as they say in Brittain - complete bollocks.

I agree. I laughed so hard that I was crying. I would love to have a boss like him.

As a matter of fact, I just finished watching the second season of it last night. The way it ended was astonishingly intelligent.

I can't wait to see "Extras".

where exactly can i see this misa.j?

listened to the two versions, american version sounds lame.

I never really liked the Office. I can kinda see why people would find it funny, but it's just not my thing. I can't see the American version being anything special; it's very 'British' humour, but I guess it's worth checking out. There's better British comedies out there though.

I've seen both versions. Thought the British version was ok and the American version was just bad. It's not even just that they copied the idea of the show, but they're actually recreating specific episodes. What's the point of that? Why not just play the original version? I guess American networks only want to air American shows, but that's just silly.

Once, long ago, someone, somewhere, had a good idea. And since then that idea has just been copied and altered by small minded people who wouldn't dare to come up with something new.

It is awsome, but I would try to rent it first. You never know if you like it as much as I did. ;-)
I got it from netflix.com.

They might have it at Blockbusters too, though.
