Odd japanese sexual fantasies

First of all thanks to all people who replyed to my post with an open mind.
Maybe my destiny on this forum is that of being misunderstanded everytime...

I never liked polemics. My intention was only that to discuss about differences of sexual fantasies beetween different countries (and in particular in Japan), not to censor japanese people's sexual habits in any way! I read my previous post and i saw i wrote terms like "morbid" that maybe made someone misunderstand my intention. Sorry for that, it was clear (to me at least), that "morbid" was intended only from my personal, human, point of view (and not as"italian"). I just can't get how a school uniform (or a half-animal creature) can excite someone. That's all!

being raped/having sex with a stranger. The main fantasy of italian men is making sex with 2 women (possibly with your girfriend and a female friend of your girlfriend).
A part from these chief fantasies, the other fantasies are in a decreasing order: -(females) having sex while a stranger is watching you. having sex in a surgery with a doctor. Have sex in a prison (never think of it!) .And for males, have sex in a plane; have sadomasochistic sex; have sex with a submissive girl (it is only the 17% of people in the poll, so it's not a well known fantasy here). Have "bondage" sex.

I don't care to be a rigid censor of morality. I only wanted to make a comparison. I don't want to answerr all the other things directly, but please WOULD YOU STOP to tell me that i am making generalizations and that all my thoughts are wrong just because i created them watching japanese cultural products like comics, movies etc?
I already tried to explain this point. 1) Generalizations are inevitable when you want to make comparison beetween different countries and mentality.

If you say: " life is short" or "life is funny" it's a generalization as well, nevertheless it's necessary to express an idea. Otherwise you just have to stop to talk with other human beeings. You don't have to be a slave of generalizations but they are a starting point.
2) Have you ever seen an american film (even a porno one) with a girl who tries to turn a guy on wearing a school uniform? I don't think so, or probably there are 2-3 movies on 10000000 like this in USA. But if you see a certain thing just 100 times in different mass media of another country (either if it's in Japan or in Russia) that means that kind of idea/obsession/value/whatever DO EXIST even in the deepest part of people of that country! I saw girl dressed like schoolgirl in "exciting" situations in dozens and dozens of japanese media. If you still say everything is false, maybe it's not me to have my eyes closed...
Anyway, again, thanks to all people that try to explain me this "odd" (for my own p.o.w.) japanese sexual fantasy with rational thoughts.

I second what someone else said and can't find that post to quote it, but... People have fetishes all around the world, it is just that in Japan it probably might not be frowned upon. This movement was started in Europe if I'm not mistaken, and I was told that there are even theater shows about people having sex with animals, and some twisted and crazy stuff like that, something so degrading and sick, something that people in the Americas are hopefully, for me, not used to.

Different people have different fetishes but I do believe that some (or many) of those fetishes are affected by culture. Beastality exists in other countries, but I think the seafood culture of Japan has affected this "marine" beasality. I guess this is where those much joked about "tentacle rape hentai anime" got its origins from.

Now I'm pretty open-minded about fetishes and stuff, but there is one thing that disturbs me. A friend from over-seas wished to see what kind of pornography they sold in Japan so I took her to porn store where they sold pornographic videos. The majority was mainstream porn, and they had the more unusual stuff in the back sections, but what I saw was pretty shocking. They had a whole wall devoted to videos of teen (under 18) and almost pre-teen girls in revealing clothes showing them in various erotic positions (there was no nudity or sex of course). This wasn't some back alley porn store, but a major store right in front of the busiest station of my city. Now I know being a pedophile isn't illegal (and I don't believe particularly immoral) but selling erotic videos of teen girls?? Seems kinda sketchy. Anyway, my point is that you can find some weird stuff being openly sold a lot of the time.

Uhh, yes? The American idea of a "school girl" image is the so-called "catholic school girl", usually a tight white shirt, tartan skirt, pigtails, etc. I'd make a guess that cheerleaders are more popular as a subject though

I have a feeling that if Christianity and Islam never came into being.......there would never be a thread like this. The ancient Greeks, Romans, Persians, and Indians weren't always repressed......but since those prude religions came about......the people on the far East are just going to seem a bit strange with their greater sexual freedom (since East Asia and Southeast Asia are largely untouched by Christianity and Islam, except the Philippines, Malaysia, and Indonesia).

The Japanese IMO have a more natural down to reality view of sex compared to the West, since they aren't influenced as much by Judeo-Christian-Islamic culture. We all know the Abrahamic view of sex is......that it is evil and shameful. Japanese have no such concepts in their culture, so they are freer sexually.

I think that in general japanese have a healthy attitute towards sex. However, there are some who engage in seriously perverted practices. I know that there are perverts in all countries and attitutes towards peadophelia varies a lot. I think that todays article in Mainichi illustrates who much these perverts scare the japanese girls:

Thats more of a "if theres a chance someone will buy it, theres someone out there who makes it". Technically it sounds a little funny, I've been wearing UV-cut clothing for years, I know all my swimwear does at the very least...

It seems to me that the OP was simply saying that from what he had observed so far, it appears to him that 2 particular types of porn are more prevalent/popular in Japan than in a lot of other countries - porn and/or erotica involving young girls, schoolgirls, pre-teen girls or actresses made to look like girls of that age; and porn involving human-animal hybrid creatures.

Maybe that's the case, maybe it isn't. I think it's a different discussion from the discussion about 'Japanese attitude to sex and expression of sexuality', which is a bigger and more complicated issue altogether. ☝

I think different countries and cultures have different areas they are comfortable and less comfortable with being 'out in the open' so to speak. It's as simple as that.

One thing already stressed somewhat, is fantasy is important, and seems to be played out more in Japan. That's okay, but I would argue there are some issues here with men reading the equivalent of porn on the train in the morning. I do like the freedom that some Japanese bring to these costume shops that rent sexual outfits, more prevelant here than in the States.

Interesting you mention them.

The ancient Romans actually had few sexual taboos (among them incest) that were actually considered offensive to the gods themselves. Sex was often an expression of power. It was also something that (depending on the time period) people never talked about. Cato the Elder once joked that he only embraced his wife when he was scared by thunder. Sex was everywhere, it just wasn't discussed in "polite company" or under certain circumstances because the Romans always maintained a very stoic facade in public.

The Greeks, on the other hand, were open and flaunted their sexuality and their proclivities.

Anyway, I will say that the impression about the Japanese that I have is more similar to the Roman idea, but without the taboos (when it comes to pornography at least). Salarymen are busy. Some even sleep in their offices. They have little time to seek sexual release, and so they often indulge in pornography or affairs during the brief periods of respite they get during their hurried work schedules. The various and deviant styles of pornography are an expression of their inadvertant sexual repression.

One girl I was with once told me that I would never have gone far in a Japanese company. I asked, "Why?" Her response was, "You always leave the bar early to be with me when you could be out drinking with your co-workers."

To the Japanese, that timespent with one's co-workers is very important to advancing one's career, and so it takes time away from girlfriends or wives.

As for the female standpoint, I have no idea, although I will admit I've seen a number of pornographic manga drawn by Japanese women, and they are far, far raunchier than anything I've seen done by Japanese men. It seems that there is a definite interest in "shotacon" especially "straight shotacon" among many Japanese women (possibly because young boys are impressionable and the woman can easily control the situation). Compare this to lolicon.

Interestingly enough, amongst the "chans" (i.e. 4chan and its satellite imageboards) there is a definite interest among Western males in "straight shotacon", but it is more like a teenage boyhood fantasy. "Boy, I wish women were like this when I was twelve," is a common sentiment.

I also happen to know two guys who were "molested" by older girls (teenage and college level) in their preteen years, and they look back on it as awesome experiences, seeing them as sexual awakenings with the girls as "tutors" or "guides". These guys are somewhat proud of these experiences, and cherish them and still have feelings of appreciation and gratitude for the women who "assaulted" them.

Anyway, I've digressed. The point is, the conditions of Japanese society have made their sexuality contrary to their economic and social demands.

All I was saying, the source that the OP was basing this one wasn't very solid, and without thinking about the reasons behind them.
If you want to talk "odd Japanese sexual fantasies" or fetishes theres many more interesting ones that have some history, ie. shibari (rope bondage). Most of the other stuff is modern and heavily influenced from foreign sources anyway.

Off topic but related - I've been looking for work was told something I found amusing. The recruiter said that the company was looking for a foreigner, the main reason being that the manager (a woman), is a little... weird. Apparently she likes anime/manga, and they figure a foreigner would be better able to work with her, than a Japanese who might feel uncomfortable. While I have to agree, I can imagine its a little thing being blown way out of proportion

That's interesting too that I think, I basically ascribed the same qualities where the Roman model actual fit, rather than the opposite... at least, outside of the reference to the Ancient Romans, that was the intent of my post.

So you won't be getting V& by the 4chan party van any time soon? That's good... I've noticed amongst the various (and seemingly a new one pops every other day) image boards that both straight, and non-straight shota are quite popular.

The difference of course is that straight-shota is basically older women having some sort of relationship with younger boys...

Personally, I think that these types of materials feed some sort of need, or image ideal for the reader, and they may feed those needs differently in Japan than they do in the United States, but I don't feel that they are what some people might deem as "dangerous" materials, though the government of the United States may feel differently.

No, so far as I know, I'm not going to be visited by the Party Van anything soon. I know the FBI watches me fap, so I keep my computer clean and free of dirty material... so far as it is possible with the Internet and all.

Anyway, like I said, many on the Other "chans" who fap to straight shotacon say that it feeds the fantasy of being the boy, rather than lolicon, which feeds on the fantasy of being with a girl. That's an interesting point, one that was prosecuted in one case in the US where a prisoner was additionally charged with possession of child pornography. I would argue also that drawings would not fall under the current pornography statues, but it might depend on the jurisdiction where the charges are pursued as the authorities in various areas may apply different standards to similar laws.

By contrast, a few years ago in B.C. Canada a man was charged for possession of child pornography because he had self-written child erotica, stories basically. I believe he was not convicted based on the defense that his stories were for personal use and they were art and not pornography.

I don't know why cases like this are a big deal. I think what this guy did is sick, writing these kind of things, I wouldn't do it, or else I would immediately throw myself in a psychiatric clinic... but he wrote stories, listen, he did not possess any child pornography and got charged, this I think shouldn't be given for as underage porn, they're just thoughts that this man, crazy if you will, had, but he did not possess any pictures.

On a side note, what would you guys consider Spencer Tunick's (photographer who gathers thousands of people to pose naked) work? Is this pornography or art.
I think it is art and that this is some improvement at the new mentality of people. Just that this gave me a second thought when I heard that in a recent photo shoot, the women were required to take their clothes off and many men took the oportunity to take pics with their cell phones.
