North Korea, test a atomic bomb, Japan loses

I saw this on one of the talk show for Sunday. Analyzing the North-Korea issue. This was Hardball with Chris Mathews. If North-Korea test an atomic bomb, then the one who loses will be japan.

This is the logic;

North-Korea will not attack China, South-Korea, and is too far from America, but the loser will be Japan. North-Korea having a nuclear bomb threatens Japan.

I haven't seen the show, so in all probability I'd be making a bad guess.
Was the analysis based on the following analogy ?

N.Korea<-->US
Tokdo <--> Hawaii
*nuclear testing<-->nuclear testing
*SDF attempt at Tokdo<-->Pearl Harbor
*preemptive strike on Japan<-->H & N strikes​

If I totally misunderstood, then please ignore, but please do not underestimate the power of memory, and the negative power of historical distortion/embelishment.

1 out of 10 A-bomb victims were Korean, either S.Korean or N.Korean in hindsight, the 2nd Prince of the annexed kingdom of Choson Li U 李窶ｹﾃｷ (1912-1945) in Japanese captivity got fried under the bomb in Hiroshima and died the same day. I hope neither N.Korea nor Japan would try to copy the US example of actually using the damned thing.
I hope Japan would just back off from making ridiculous 19th century territorial claims when they know they were in the wrong to take them in the first place. Unless they are looking for trouble, they shouldn't draw first blood. There will be no 2nd chance for Japan this time.
Perhaps, in the rare case that there is reasonable doubt of Japan taking the unwise path, the victimized countries of Imperial Japan should have a right to have military bases in Japan together with the US beforehand just to check Japan's military aggression capability. We all want peace in Asia, so Japan should watch itself with its various military drills that 'might' be construed as 'aggressive' drills which is literally in violation of the S.F. Peace Treaty.
Stay non-aggressive, true to the word, and Japan should do just fine IMHO.

U.S.: No concessions

Bush labeled North Korea, Iran and Iraq an "axis of evil" in his January 2002 State of the Union address.

"By seeking weapons of mass destruction, these regimes pose a grave and growing danger," the president said then.

By the end of 2002, North Korea had expelled inspectors from the United Nations' International Atomic Energy Agency and removed the IAEA's monitoring seals and cameras from its nuclear facilities.

Six-party talks aimed at ending North Korea's nuclear program have been stalled since September 2004, and North Korea last Thursday said it had no intention of returning to the negotiating table.

Pyongyang also declared for the first time publicly that the country has nuclear weapons and threatened to bolster its weapons arsenal, in response to what it deemed U.S. threats to its political system.

The United States has refused to offer concessions to entice North Korea back to the multilateral talks, State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said Monday.

Three of the other parties -- China, South Korea and Japan -- have advocated a more conciliatory approach to solving the North Korean nuclear issues and have urged the United States to be more flexible.

The CIA director told the committee he believes the main reason for nuclear proliferation in countries such as North Korea and Iran is not so much to stage an attack as to keep up with their nuclear neighbors.

"Having watched the pride of some countries in acquiring the world-stage status of having nuclear weapons -- and what that has meant for nationalism and leadership ... it becomes almost a piece of the holy grail for a small country that otherwise might be victimized living in a dangerous neighborhood," Goss said.
