Well, it wouldn't hurt to reinstall the software (drivers) that came with your soundcard.

I heard Santa is a computer whiz(related to Bill Gates). According to the TV commercial if you leave him some good cheeze he will take great care of you. He'd probably leave you the top of the line sound card and Bose speakers !! Best of luck !!
