Dave Grohl is a better singer than he is a drummer imo... Nirvana were good and probably one of the best out of that whole Seattle/grunge era but I personally prefer good'ol STP or Alice myself if I had to choose. Interestingly enough, Pearl Jam had released their debut album 'Ten' ("Jeremy") a month earlier than Nirvana's 'Nevermind' but grunge didn't really take off until "Teen Spirit" become a national anthem for angst-ridden GenXers. I guess with Cobain's death, they will always be immortalized at the height of their popularity. I'm surprised there hasn't been a movie about his life made yet although maybe his life wasn't all that interesting outside of his music, heh.

Nirvana was one of the greatest bands ever. Nirvana along with Alice and Chains and STP they took out the 80's hair bands(which in my opinion is a really good thing)

OK, im probably gona upset some hardcore Nirvana fans now, but i just need to say that Nivana were really only successful because there was little competition. Music at the time had hit a low point. I personally think The Beatles were a greater band...
Dont get me wrong, i dont mind Nirvana. Its just a few of their fans annoy me...

Personally I think Nirvana were a so-so band. nothing to special about them. The thing which seems to have made them the cult they are now was the death of Kurt Cobain. To make it stick even better make a lot of conspiracies about his death as well.
