Newbie with a flag

Hello, Dan in PA here. I just joined and hope I don't frustrate you with a flag authentication question.
I received this in the 1960s from a uncle who was in the US Navy and curious if it can verified as a true ww2 item or not. Its very light with poor looking quality. I appreciate any help.

There don't seem to be any markings that could indicate its provenance. Without any supporting documentation it's safe to assume it's just a souvenir item rather than a personal or battle flag of any kind.
