I found my way onto this forum following a link regarding a discussion of Japanese versus foreign crime rates. I had been seeking that info and this site had it.

I am a long term resident of Japan, from the U.S., and live in Miyazaki, in southern Kyushu . I used to teach English and still work sometimes with my wife in translating technical documentation, but I am mostly retired and drawing U.S. Social Security and Japanese Kyosai Nenkin and Kokumin Nenkin pensions. Yoroshiku onegaishimasu.

Though spring may well be in the air, up here on the roof of Japan, ole Shinano, old man winter still casts his long shadow over the along with those of the Japan Alps. We could use a blast of warm air from down your ways, svd san !! And while you're working up a warm front to send our ways, let me also welcome you to JREF !! THE forum about Japan and Japanese things.

I hope you stick around and join in with us all in this big world-wide on-line community. I hope to be able to meet up with you again, and learn more about you.

I live here in Nagano--Shinano, of old--and me and the little lady are always busy with raising our three sons...could make a TV melo-drama, huh?! hee, hee, hee.... Catch you later! 🙂

Welcome "old hand". Looking forward to your input and experiences. Hope you enjoy this place.
