Hello everyone,
Allow me to introduce myself: my real name is Ward Peeters, I'm a 32 years young Belgian. I come to this forum with a bit of a purpose, which I'll explain shortly
I have always thought of Japan as a very intriguing land; the history, the way the language sounds (without understanding it), the haute cuisine, the general way of life - quite different from mine.
Of course, that's all well and good to mention, but I must admit I don't know much about Japan. My only experience comes from my early teens, when I practiced judo. Though I was too young to grasp the philosophy behind it, this at least scratched the surface with Japanese sports terms and practices.
So why did I choose to come here now? Because I am going to try to write a novel in the setting of a mixture between Japanese and western influences. This project may or may not ever reach completion, considering the difficulty and the fact that I started it this monday. I (obviously) immediately hit some questions, that I am considering to ask on this forum. But I guess this introduction is not the place to ask them.
I always write in Dutch, so I'm afraid not many on this forum would be able to read it.
Hoping to find at least some answers,
Respectfully,
Ward
