Hey guys,

I acquired this Japanese bowl that has a four character mark on the bottom of it. I have been successful in translating the first two characters but for the life of me I cannot translate the other two. The first two characters read "daimon", which I believe mean "the great gate". If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it since this has been an uphill battle for about 6 months. Thanks so much!

That's 大明年製[Dai min nen sei]. I can't tell if it's real or fake, but this inscription was used on old Imari of the late 17th century.
