Hi,

My Japanese girlfriend is currently dying from a liver Cancer and she has only a couple of months left since all treatments have failed (she is now in paliative care).

Her anxiety is of course very strong and my love and affection isn't enough unfortunately.

I would like to find a Japanese psychologist who could visit her at the hospital and at her place both in the Chiba area in order to ease her fears as much as possible.

The problem is that I can't find any useful information as how/where to find such a professional despite the fact that I search with keywords in Japanese.

Of course there is a psychologist at her hospital but she doesn't seem to produce any result.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Cheers

Hospice

Someone at the hospital or her doctor should be able to recommend a hospice program for her. There is usually a trained team of skilled workers and also trained volunteers who all work together to help the person make the best of their last days. If you Google Japan hospice , you should find more info to help you and your friend. Good luck.

What is her family doing for her along these lines?

Hi,

She already is in a PCU (Palliative Care Unit) which is what you might be talking about if I'm not mistaken.
They do a great job at suppressing any pain but not enough on the mental side I'm afraid.

I find that hard to believe. I think you just don't understand HOW she is caring.
