Hi everyone,
I have a Japanese journal, believed to be from the 1940's era. I was wondering if anyone can help me with a rough translation. I don't really need to know what everything says, but just a general idea of what this journal is about or what the subject matter is. Is it military related? Thank you so much!

Yes, that's a Military Booklet. The handwritten page is his military records; the names of troops he joined, the dates of them, etc. As for the printed documents, the red print one is 軍人勅諭[Gunjin Chokuyu], and the black one is 戦陣訓[Senjinkun]. (The existance of Senjinkun pages shows that he was given that diary after 1942.)
