I don't know the context behind the scene, but it would be 1) the girl said it to herself, 2) she expected someone were in the bathroom or 3) that's not her words but the author's words to the readers.

It does sound "old" and from the 死ねない I get the mores soon this is some character who for some reason physically can not be killed. Perhaps addressing the reader in his "natural" (old) speech but interacting with other characters in the speech of their own era. Is there a character like that?
It isn't particularly hard to avoid using pronouns in Japanese. I practically never use second or third person pronouns, and avoiding even first person isn't uncommon.
What part don't you understand specifically? Can you get エモさ, by the way? (I've never seen this word before...)

how do you best think I can phrase that quote from English to Japanese. I did attempt but it seems it was not right

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to give me the correct translation for the word: Neptune. (planet)
I came across two translations: かいおうせい and 海王星. I'm not sure which one is correct, or which one to use.

かすり is probably the noun form of かする and the usage here is probably figurative. Look at it again with that in mind.
