Need a word or phrase translated?

I'm kind of an ex-gamer myself (still can enjoy the good ones, but don't really get any time to play them much anymore), but it's just impossible to say for sure without more information/context about the particular game they're talking about. My impression was that the game is question has no "chat" feature, per se, but it is possible to speak within the setting of the game -- in character, so to speak. Sadly, we'll never be able to know for sure.

Still, it was an interesting sentence to think about, don't you think? Thanks for bringing it up.

Is this correct, or similiar? This cannot be right, the "yo" shows emphasis..

Perhaps it is "Like this statement here.."

I must look up the particle 'de'...as well I've never seen 'indesu." before

Maybe you should stop interrupting their chat to ask how you are doing if you don't want honest feedback. It looks like they can basically understand but feel it is a little strange and tentative (naturally after studying a few months, mine would still be too). :note:

GCL, the guy told you that your Japanese is not bad. It's a little strange, but he can understand it.

No, basically he said that you were in the bad for getting upset about such a thing.

GCL. Please don't expect that people will translate your chat sessions ad infinitum. Consider how lucky you are that people here have helped you out as much as they already have! Many of us never had such support, and you should try to stand up with less outside support, friend.

You've actually shown a lot more progress, especially in vocabulary, than most of the newcomers we get here. And definately in your passion for the language, hehe, which is a very nice change.

Translating the occasional chat line is good practice, although if you could keep them together in one thread and not post dumb parts or ask questions without thinking them through first everything it would be a whole lot easier to manage. And I have every faith you will calm down and settle into a more useful study routine. It can't happen fast enough either for you or us.

Yes, elizabeth, san, I am addicted to it more than ever? I guess it is special, because unlike other european or latin languages, it uses a whole different aphlabet, it is frusterating, albeit, challenging, but it pays off!

Regarding my "もっとする" sentence, thank you very much for your help, everyone.

For the record, I meant "do more" in the sense of "If I move to Japan, then, as a gaijin Japanese student that can't yet speak Japanese, my best bet for making decent money is teaching at an eikaiwa gakkou. But at some point, I want to do more." I figured this might be a good use of "suru" for "do" (since it's such a general "do x" sense), but I guess "accomplish" or something similar would have been better.

だから － therefore/so
おかえりなさい － welcome back
は － pronounced 'wa' and is not connected to いいです

And if you wanted to romanize it:
Anoo, Watashi konogoro yoku ochirumitai dakara, mou "okaerinasai"ha ii desu.
 


It is still difficult. Did they mean most foreigners fail at Japanese these days?
 
I believe he was talking of himself, Hence the 私. Also I didn't see 日本語 in there anywhere.
 
It's Internet slang meaning either your Web access had been down or you "drop off" from internet chat. The second applies in this case.

These slang words come and go, so they're not in dictionaries.:

私はもう彼らを友達（だ）と思っていないです。
 
Why 思う and not 考える？
This is a new grammar point for me. I only 思う as opinion and 考える as actual thought action.

The normal distinction is that 考える connotes giving a lot of thought or consideration to something and 思う is a more spontaneous judgement or thought-feeling. In this expression, と思う is simply much more common in my experience which is why I changed it (besides the English was 'think').

考えっていない is also possible, but might translate as slightly more powerful and disdainful "no longer regard them as friends."
 

Originally I wanted to go with "I no longer consider them friends" which now you mention 考える would have would thinking to consider ot to think about it you would use 考える as the verb possibly. Thanks E.

多分、それについて聞いたら、[Regard as, consider ]みたいな意味で使われる
「考える」の方が『と思う , consider as, think of as」の強調をしていると思う」
とか答えたり日本人が多いでしょう。

人間関係を指すとき「と考える」は、ほとんど使わないかも。私もよくわかりません。。。
 
そうっか。多分、日本人に聞きますでしょうね。。でも、英語で私に教えることが出来ないかな。
そして、どう言いたかったによると思います。 翻訳は「私は、もう彼らが友人であるとみなしません。」を答えました。言葉の「Ｃｏｎｓｉｄｅｒ」は違うの言葉を使っています。 意味は同じかな。。。
 
Just a quick note from my break at work (これは内緒！）

みなす is used for business and law and not with friends.

私はもう彼らを友達（だ）と思ってません。
私はもう彼らを友達（だ）と考えてません。(slightly stronger)
are OK.
