its playoff time again

the teams that I support
(ok my favourite team the Orlando Magic is not in it,they have the worst record in the NBA and preparing for the up-coming draft)

Houston Rockets
YAO MING!!!!!
Rockets in the playoffs for the first time in 5 years,
Chinese superstar Yao Ming and Steve Francis first playoff appereance
they are facing the L.A Lakers,two superstars Shaq and Kobe,two future hall of famers Malone and Payton,this team (who were without Malone and Payton) have won 3 championships in a row in 2000 to 2002
it is a huge challenge for the Rockets,who are lack of experience,
Shaq,wants to prove he is the most dominant center,he is playing extremely hard on Yao Ming,it is a huge challenge for Yao Ming who is only in his second year,go YAO!!

New York Knicks
they are facing the New Jersey Nets
my idol Penny Hardaway should play more and score more!!
Stephon Marbury should never try to go against Jason Kidd alone
Kidd just dominated Marbury in the first game,Marbury was so troubled that game that coach Lenny Wilkens was so angry at him

Memphis Grizzlies
San Antonio Spurs the defending champion
they are playing against each other,I support Grizzlies because I watched this team started,fought,troubled,won,lost while they were in Vancouver,
they are in the playoffs for the first time in franchise history
I don't really expect them to overthrow the defending champs Spurs,
Spurs is an excellent team on both ends,great defense,they are playing team ball,
the Griz are inexperienced and young,the first game in the series they have made mistakes that they would not have made in the regular season,
Spurs leading 1 - 0


Dallas Mavericks
against the Sacramento Kings,
not really a big fan of this team,but Steve Nash is the leader of this team and he is Canadian so I support him,
Mavericks should not live-and-die on the 3 point line,
Chris Webber,who just came back from injuries,I expect him to crash under the basket for scoring,Mavericks just lack of power under the basket and Webber will attack them right there

actually I don't expect the Rockets to win this series
but it is a very good experience and lesson for the Rockets
especially for Yao Ming,I hope he will get tougher physically after this series

unbelievable
Yao Ming outplayed Shaq
because of Yao,Shaq had only 7 points,his career playoff low,he also had 4 fouls,3 of them was because of Yao,so Shaq was sitting on the bench for long time this game
Shaq did not smile although his Lakers won the game

Yao had 21 points
he played very well first half,in fact Rockets played well and did the right things in the first half,like giving Yao the ball,keeping the turnovers,
but in the third quarter,Rockets just collapsed,Yao not getting the ball,Rockets turning the ball over

the most important matchup for this series is Yao vs Shaq
but,look at the stats of these two men in this game
it is unblievable that the Rockets lost by 14 points

hopefully the Rockets will learn from this
there is a simple fact,if you don't get Yao Ming involved,you lose,there are 82 season games to proof this.

the second one,which just ended about 2 hours ago,was very tight game 83 - 79,

Rockets is a young team,the first two games were winnable but they just slipped away,now they did the things right and won the third game
this win is a boost for them ,the momentum could be swifting to the Rockets' side,
the next game will also be at Houston,win that game and it will be a new series with momentum on the Rockets' side!!

Lakers' Karl Malone did some dirty thing in this game
when Rockets' Bastjan Nachbar going on a fastbreak lay up,
Malone went under the basket and undercut Nachbar,Nachbar fell to the floor,
next possession,Malone on a fastbreak lay up,Nachbar jumped to block his shot,the refs called a foul on Nachbar,Nachbar walked away but Malone was looking for Nachbar

Yao Ming's sixth foul in OT is also a very questionable call

after the game,Nachbar said he respects Malone but not afraid of him,and he said thats the part of the game,he stood for Malone,
but Malone said something disrespectful to Nachbar,Francis and the Rockets owner Alexander

go Spurs,beat the Lakers

despite Rockets lost to the Lakers,Yao Ming and the Rockets still have a bright future
Shaq was not too lucky too when he first played in the playoffs
and in his second time,in 1995 Finals,he and the Magic were swept by Hakeem Olajuwon and the Rockets 4 - 0
Shaq was 23,Hakeem was 32

Yao is 23,Shaq is 32

after this series,I think Yao will train his body hard during the summer to increase his physical toughness,and thats good think,it was fortunate for them to play against the Lakers,and lucky for Yao to play against Shaq and Malone in his first playoff appearance,the two toughest players in the NBA,it helps Yao Ming's growth

its alright,I respect other people's choices

but

Rockets,a defenive team,already gave the Lakers a tough time,
Spurs,a team with even better defense,and very good offense,
unless the Lakers just get on fire throughout the series,
otherwise,my prediction is

Spurs in 6

Unlike the Sacramento Queens, L.A. has plenty of respect for San Antonio as Tim Duncan and company have been a true nemesis to the boys from Tinseltown. Despite Shaq, Kobe and hired guns Gary Payton and Karl Malone, the Spurs will send the Lackers home in 6!

After that, the Spurs will go on to beat the winner of Minnesota-Sacramento, then whatever sacrificial lamb comes out of the East to win another title! You read it here first, folks! GO SPURS!!!!

Lakers is not a great running team,they prefer to play half court offense,
Spurs is a good running team,it favors them if the game becomes fast pace
today's game is an example
Phil Jackson could use Payton to change the pace of the game,
Payton defending Parker is also one of the keys for the Lakers to win.

See? What did I tell ya? The Spurs tightened up on the defense in the fourth quarter and make the Lackers look inept. It was so much fun to watch! Now it'll be up to PhilJax to make adjustments for game two. If that doesn't happen, it'll be Spurs up 2-0! Of course, that's what I want to see!
