NBA Draft

For those who care, I wanted to start a thread for the NBA draft that's starting in about, oh, 17 minutes.

I'm a Clipper fan, and they don't have a pick until the 2nd round, so I'm not really concerned with them wasting a pick, or getting someone who might be a bust.

I'm far more curious to see what Portland, New York, and New Orleans do. I like watching teams improve through the draft, and it looks like 2 of these 3 can't get much worse. NO has a nice core with some potentially great players (CP3 especially), and it'd be cool to see them in the playoffs next year.

I am a Bucks fan and we dont have a pick either until the 2nd round. I am just interested to see if they trade Magliore before the draft starts....or while it is progress.

Portland made a lot of moves last night, and I'm curious to see how their new guys will work out. They got a good picks in Aldridge and Roy, got rid of Telfair, who couldn't get back on the court last year after getting hurt, and swapped an aging Ratliff for an aging Lafrentz. They're upgrading their backcourt and frontcourt, and all in one year. 35 wins this year?

Orlando takes Redick at 11...confusing. They've got some good pieces already with Howard, Nelson and even Darko, but what they don't need is a 6'4" no D, 3 point shooting 2. They could've had Rodney Carney.

I also thought Sheldon Williams went way too early. He's a big solid guy, good defender with limited offensive skills. But he'll be a 4 in the NBA, which is what their last 1st rounder Marvin Williams plays. Move Williams to the 3? You've got to deal with Childress, Josh Smith, and Al Harrington, who with the exception of Smith, cannot play out of position. Why not take a PG? SG? Foye, Roy, Marcus Williams, Gay, Carney were all available this early.

I guess from the draft it's easy to see why some teams have been bad lately (NY, Seattle, GS) and why some make the most out of their drafts (Memphis).
