Native vs non-native Japanese teachers

Hehe - that should be fun.

Yeah - the non-native may offer more advice on learning while the native may offer more advice on culture.

I had reached a decision to stay and wait for the Japanese teacher in the Fall when...

Today, I was looking at the catalogue of another community college and saw that the non-native teacher was teaching Japanese 1 there during the same hours! I rushed to the catalogue of my community college - and Japanese 2's instructor (the native) was the same - while for Japanese 1 under the place for the instructor was written "Staff" - which means that the instructor has either changed or has been not decided. I don't know what they'll do - since the native has Japanese 2 during the same time and day Japanese 1 is going on. =/

Well, I have reached a decision.

I have decided to wait until Fall 2005 and take the class with the Japanese instructor. Though I can hear the language explained in clear English, my goal is not English, yet Japanese. Plus, I can disect any Japanese (or Filipino) accent (I'm having trouble with Korean accents and Chinese) so its not a problem for me. I can get clearer information about culture.

So, I decided to take it with the Japanese lady in Fall 2005.
