I watched this movie last night. If you have a strong stomach for the truth or a yearning for greater understanding then you should take the time to watch it.
Japan could take great steps forward as a nation if they accepted the actions of their soldiers in Nanking. A start would be removing the names of the war criminals from the Yasukuni shrine.
 
Where did you watch it? I would be curious to see it, but have heard it has a limited number of theaters showing it.
 
"The Truth" huh? Hold it there buddy... that isn't a phrase to throw around when talking about any form of "media."

This movie, which I will clearly say I have not seen but do intend to see, comes from one side of the argument mostly favoring the Chinese side but includes documents and research supported by the United States as well.

With that said, I will say that I have been to China, seen the Chinese view of the massacre and read documents (translated) and spoken with professors. I've also seen the denials from the Japanese side. The Chinese side is a hell of a lot closer to what seems to be the "Truth" I'd say, but don't ever assume that a movie is "truth." Especially when I believe the movie is based around fictional characters used to present the massacre from different aspects.
 
I'd say there's no truth, there are facts. History is not about right or wrong.
 
Another good one I saw is "Don't Cry Nanking" Very emotional storyplot based on real event.
 
What happened at Nanking during WWII is well known. Not every small detail is known; too long ago, many who were their (both sides) are dead (old age, killed in the rampage), or will lie to cover up their crimes.

Germany and Japan must squarely look at their behavior and atrocities in WWII, openly and honestly.
