My new buys from fair today :)

today I bought from a fair for military items was a colonels medical kepi from the 60s. A USAAF cap for a pilot. The best item was a 1940 dated deactivated mosin Nagant.

Do the "Deactivate" by welding a plug near the front sight or do they do something down near the bolt area ??

They basically remove the firing pin and weld the place where the firing pin is and put a rod in the barrel. Still the bolt works and you can dry fire it.

One of those "If only I had known" moments. Back in the early 60's , the gun magazines had ads for military guns for under $50 US. Most good quality European rifles and pistols were $30US or less. A good quality 1911 Colt pistol went for under $40 and most sell now for $2000US or more depending what shape they are in. Military hats and clothing were usually $5 US or less because there was no interest really back then. Over the years I have sold or traded many guns I cry over not having now , LOL. A few I sold for around $200 are now worth over $2000 US. Hold on to your collection and keep working on it and when you hit 50 or 60 you might be a millionaire .

But yeah I heard about the prices being cheap back in the 60s. Now the prices ridiculously high for some guns like colts and and even snipers. Military uniforms are the same as well. I wish I could time travel.
