Hey guys,
I have a question on purchasing musical equipment in Tokyo. I'm going to be living over there for at least 18 months, and UPS doesn't plan on giving me a good deal to send my stuff over. So I'll have to (re)buy some stuff over there. I was planning on searching it out over there, but this forum seems like a great place to ask the question and know in advance. Any information is off course welcome.
Thanks.

I've seen quite a few such stores walking around Tokyo, but I'm not sure what the fair price of instruments run, so I can't be sure if the cost is fair. You should have no trouble finding what you are looking for, though.

I don't know what kind of instruments you are looking for, but my son does his shopping for himself and his students in the Kanda-Ochanomizu area in central Tokyo. This is a map of shops in the area (sorry, Japanese only):

But, he says the prices and the range are better in New York... 😌

Thanks! I heard about the Ochanomizu area to be the place for musical instruments. Thanks for the map

Or maybe some hints on how to get some performances over there. It's what I do here and it's what I would like to do for the time I'm there. ..

I bought a new gibson les paul last month certainly cheaper than in London.
Helps if using a strong currency!
