Moving to Japan, how to get phone number ?

Moving to Japan for school, Yokohama

I have a phone that does not have a SIM card slot.

It uses E-Sim , I don't speak Japanese well.

How do I find a cell phone company and get a plan setup for my phone.

Or pick up a sim card at Narita Airport (or wherever you are flying into). These are meant for tourists, but there are apparently longer term options as well. And, if nothing else it will give you internet/phone access while you sort out the longer term options.

These don't give phone numbers by the way, he tourist ones are strictly data only sim cards (and he mentioned he does not have a SIM card slot, only eSIM which means anyone who is facing this sim card issue should take a look at my recent post instead although the phone number issue is still not quite fixable at the moment except if you use Mobal, but they are not eSIM compatible as far as I know)
