Remarkable, though it may seem, many businesses, from sushi restaurants to pawnshops, all come with drive-through gimmicks in Gunma. Tapping into the trend, the "udon" noodle chain Marugame Seimen, headquartered in Tokyo, opened its first drive-through outlet in Gunma's Shibukawa in June. Meals available there can be eaten in vehicles with ease. Shake udon, for example, is blended with toppings and served in containers that fit into cars' cup holders.
