I played the game Freedom Fighters ages ago, but I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Ah, sorry sorry, if I offended anyone by thinking Gothic style. I have no clue when it comes to these things, because I never cared or thought about it.

heh my first japanese music was dir en grey, my friend send me some mp3,and it was absolutely great :-) I like metal,so VK is the best choice for me hh and after hear some diru I´ve started searching for some music and then I found Myv, he was so different that others and he suprised me a lot with different music and guitar play..
and after that my j-rock obsession begins:D

Visual kei has elements of Goth, punk, glam rock, rock, metal and so on..it is an eclectic style, so yeah, everyone of us here has some "goth"
but basically no...If you met me on the street, I doubt you would think I like VK- we are just normal girls. Well, maybe with some rainbow strands in hair, maybe piercings, or sometimes pins and chains...
But I don´t have any piercing, nor tatoo, my hair is black-red and I wear normal clothes (most of the time)..I think it depends on..
 
I can't really differ between any of those genres, to be honest.

They all look the same to me. :)

You ask? Of course, it is a good thing. There would be so less arguments in world, if everyone would be open mindes ang give new things a try before he condemns them!

And I think it is a natural process, when you get to know different cultures and different kind of lives...
 
Ohh, I would like to know sooo much about many different cultures! ( ^ _ ^ ) It's quite interesting to know something about their customs, living and beilives... :)
 
I'm not gothic or visual kei at all. Im serious a girly girl and I have some sweet lolita clothes too. At his concert all those girls and guys who all had colored hair with all the colors of the rainbow watched me like: What are you doing here? But I was probaly the one who know him the longest but ok.

For me it was like:
Japanese culture ------ Ayumi Hamasaki ----- Anime magazine ------ Miyavi

I saw something of him in a anime magazine and first I thought was that he was pretty weird because it was my first VK sort of thing ever. Then I looked on youtube I was completly in love with a fanvideo of Oresama with the song Ashita genki ni nare. I still love that song <3

ok this might be a little late but it was like this with me.


gackt (like 10 years ago) - miyavi (about 3 years ago) - gazette (and they actually brought me really into the jrock scene)

and I was into the gothic scene for about four years (between gackt and miyavi :D)

LOL...I have a question for you then...and I don´t mean it bad, it´s not a reprehension, nor an attempt get you out of here, its just simple curiosity ( I am a very curious person):
what are you doing then in this thread, when you can´t differ between metal and glamrock, not to speak about goth and VK?
if you want to know more of it, then it´s ok, we´ll answer your questions, but I am not sure, if that´s what you want, because VK obviously isn´t exactly your taste? and miyavi somehow doesn´t get enough attentions in your entries as well...and finally this is a thread about Miyavi...poor MYV, you make him feel neglected ;P

Since you are a very curious person, you can probably understand my point of view.

I am a very curious person myself.

Mostly comment in the Serious Discussion part of Jref or in other similarly "serious" Threads around here, so, for one, I don't see many women around those parts.

One day, I saw a post by a woman in a serious Thread (SHOCK!) and she had something about Miyavi written. So, I googled Miyavi a bit, then had a brief look at the Forum Index of Jref and saw that incidentally the "Miyavi" Thread had the latest post in this section of the forum at the time.

So, I had a brief look at it and started off with a stupid question.

Yeah, I Jrock/Miyavi/Gackt/All that stuff I don't find appealing, though, I am interested in the mindset and thoughts of fangirls.

Even though I know many women and am friends with a great deal of them, I know very little fangirls.

As such, I asked you guys, since you obviously are fangirls.

I find it interesting. :)

If my questions do however get on your nerves and I am not welcome in this Thread anymore, I have no problem with leaving.

I do believe that seeing men around these parts of the forum is as rare as seeing women around the serious parts of the forum, so it might be interesting, I wouldn't know.

well, i won´t comment you shock of seeing a woman in the "serious" part of JREF forum...but of course, you can ask questions about fandom, we will gladly respond. But then again, we here aren´t typical fangirls, because most of us here are well over 20 and the rest are smart girls...
and yeah, having a guy here is a surprise for us...

and for the seriousnes of this thread..maybe it doesn´t look like it, but we are pretty serious. Miyavi is a unique artist with deep and many-sided personality, who is concerned about the world around him...he is different..he is like a book to study, but a book with many pages with a cipher script and you have to think carefully to understand him..
and I believe the girls will agree, that with our interest in Jrock scene widened our knowledge of japan, because it had awaken in us (at least in me) a fascination with a culture so different an ambiguous as japanese society..and not just the past, or the "serious" problems, but in everyday life, in pop phenomena etc. etc.
A net complicated as everything in this world is building up..

The SHOCK!-thing was meant as nothing more than a tease. Don't take it to heart. :)

I realized that most of you are 20 and above by the way you write your comments.

Though, when it comes to girls like Tokyo Girl, the age stated under her avatar was a great help. :)

I travel a lot and cannot afford to dedicate my thoughts on things like these for very long, which is why I post casually most of the time, but I will be sure to ask lots of stupid questions in the future.

LOL you´re a funny person, you know that? Anyway, you should listen to Shiina Ringo (she isn´t VK, nor Jrock)...maybe you´ll like this genre of music

Molestthyguitarists referred me to a couple of Jrock bands (Sugizo/Lolita Komplex/Kiryu/etc etc).... I only liked one song of two bands respectively, though.

And both those songs wer electronic remixes of the original songs.

Look at my nickname... it tells you where my musical taste is to some extent. :)

I checked out the songs "Honnou", "Sakuran" and "Love Is Blind" by Shiina Ringo so far.

Only liked the song Sakuran, though. The other ones were too much up the Rock alley for me.
