I think my problem with Itoshii Hito, is I read the lyrics after watching the video. The lyrics are blatantly a love story, but I didn't get that at all from listening to it. Do remember, I love the MYV Pops version better. It's the first one I heard, and I love how it actually ends and doesn't just fade. The ending really makes a difference with how I perceive it.
It's so weird, but when I listened to it, I envisioned this little girl. She was lost and alone in this random place, but she was more curious about it than being scared. She realized no one noticed her, and started yelling at people to get their attention. Still nothing. She got desparate and started running, trying to grab at people and walk into them. However, her body would go right through them.
She was stunned, she didn't know what to do, where to go, what to think. Here she was in this strange place... a place she didn't even really exist. It was too overwhelming, so she ran. She ran and ran until her little feet couldn't carry her anymore. Finally away from all the people, she crashed down to the ground, curled up, and cried. The sun was starting to set, and the air was getting cold. Even through the devastation, she felt herself start to relax and drift into a fitful sleep.
A strong yet gentle hand rested on her shoulder, easing her awake. She eagerly took the hand, loving the warmth and content flowing from it. Helping her up, they walked hand in hand towards the gorgeous sunset illuminating the sky.

After listening to the song and seeing that play out behind my eyes, I cried. In many ways I see that little girl as myself... I so badly long for a guardian angel to come and lead me into the sunset... hell even a sunrise XD; Reading the lyrics afterwards and seeing how completely different they were, it just... It hurt.
I guess you could say that the lyrics are from the Guardian Angel's point of view... telling me not to cry, but it stills seems like quite the stretch to get there.

Mia, I completely understand what you mean. I have issues saying what I'm thinking and feeling as well. I think that's why I use so many metaphors. Somehow it just makes things easier to describe a situation similar to mine as opposed to directly describing mine.

if I'm not boring, I want also to talk about one of my favourite PV: jibun kakumei. I never saw the translate. It's also a strange PV brutal and fun, sad and happy, and he's two! It could mean so much things, and I want to know what you feel about it, if it's possible.

But tbh, I dont know what I expected it to be. I just thought it was a type of battle between himself. Them days you just want to go crazy. Since the big screen is kinda of over looking him in the warehouse, singing this song to him. And he later pour water? onto the image of that in a tv! Along with the 2 miyavi arguing. It just reminded me when your in that state of contridiction with yourself. Kinda alone, sort of thing.
The off set colour of the video, made it seem abit more surreal and abit more dark and gloomy. A darker version of the world we know it. If that makes ANY sense at all LOL

I like miyavi because:

1. his hair
2. his music
3. his voice is really different
4. his originality
5. his spazziness
6. his guitar skill, that man can rock
7. did I mention his hair? lol

There's very very few photoshoots of Miyavi that I don't like. He's rather photogenic, wouldn't you say?

I like how his style changes. That partially inspired Ellusion. I want my band to do all styles of music (though I want that to be understood from the beginning. I think that was the probelm w/ Miyavi, he's a ROCKER, but he's suddenly doing pop... It confused a lot of fans).

Im love poppy and the rock songs. I think the swith between pop and rock it's a very good combination. I agree miyavi is a rocker. And i think that a change i his music is very good.. Ore well a bit confusing. But miyavi love the do differend thing. I reallt love that about him.
i think the acoustic album is petty nice. But i perfer the album Miyavizm XD The songs are really good. just as Galyuu. that really good album too.

Wow, this place really has gone off the deep end. So much for the Miyavi thread ruling the Music Section. I kind of hate letting it die, but oh well.

Miyavi originally only did rock, but started feeling adventurous and looked into different music styles. His latest have mostly been of the pop scheme. I'm sure the new band will be doing rock, I can't see a band doing pop.
Miyavizm, from what I've heard, was his least selling album. I can definately believe that. It is not a favorite of mine. It has some great songs, don't get me wrong, but as an album it lacks significantly. The same beat is almost constantly used through out the entire thing. There's also no rise or fall of emotions. It's all very placid. That fact is surprising, being a product of Miyavi's.
Galyuu is my favorite album of his by far. The variety of feel is incredible, and the emotions played are amazing. I highly recommend this album. The strength behind it is spectacular. MYV POPs is good for a recap of his releases as a Major artist. It's also good for hearing his pop side. If you're a fan of Miyavi's guitar playing, then I advise you take a look at his Miyaviuta album. If you like things more obscure and crazy, go rock out to the Gagaku album.

Each album has their different skills, however. I hope you eventually take a look at them all.

Miyavi venturing into different music styles was a very risky move. He's lost a bit of fans, and respect from spectators because of it. At the same time, it was also very inspiring and he has gained a new set of fans that I believe will follow him through out his career. It wasn't something he felt he needed to do now that he was a major artist and he knew not everyone would stay with him during the change. He still went through it anyway. Yes he wants to please his fans, but making music is what's important to him first off. It might be a little selfish of him, but I respect that fact. It's nice to see an artist unfazed by the media.

Someone mentioned liking him for his rock music, but being addicted to KIMINEGA? I find that terribly amusing. KIMINEGA is one of Miyavi's pop songs. I fear you have a poor outlook on what "pop music" is.

I'm curious though why so many people join a thread stating how they think the artist is cute. I don't see how that'll attract positive attention from the people already posting here.

Tbh, Thats what I like about miyavi. The fact hes experimented with a whole range of different genres and techniques and styles!

Sometimes Im in the mood for a slow song, sometimes for a loud screamy song. Usually, you cant find all them different types from one artist. Especially the complete contrast. But with miyavi you can. It has a song you love and enjoy, for every different mood. For every different type of emotion.

Its amazing, and I think it takes alot more talent and guts to produce completly different styles. Than to stick to the one your best at.

Hmm...favourite PV. There are plenty of his PVs that I enjoy...but favourite...umm -- definitely 'Dear My Friend' -- I loved that video. When I saw him doing the skydiving in the video I was just like '...omg...awesome!!' -- since I've always wanted to go skydiving. You ALL know how awesome you feel when you find out some of your favourite artists share the same interests as you! So yeah...I adore that video.

Ashita Genki Ni Naare is an awesome video too IMO -- the songs nice as well.

Jibun Kakumei is my 2nd favourite video. Like many others, it was my first exposure to Miyavi -- and I quite enjoyed the video. Adore the song as well.

There are plenty of other videos of his that I really like...but the ones mentioned above are my favourites.
