::arghh:: this is going to be long.... "Project Import"
Ok... so basically, it's just getting the bands we (the fans) want to play at the cons we want. I know not everyone is in the same location, but I do have an idea on that problem. I'll get to it a little later. Here's how it works: Pick the band/artist (Miyavi in this case), and then the con ( ???? ) and then the hard work. Everyone who wants to be involved lets me know some sort of contact info (screen name, instant messenger, anything.. I don't ask for personal info) and I keep track of who all is involved. Then, we flood the band/artist's record label with requests for that band/artist to appear at the chosen con. I'll try and make sure when we start that there's not going to be a scheduling conflict. We'll not only be sending the requests to the record label, but also to the people who are over the chosen con. If both get enough requests, and we start with enough time, they'll give in to us. Obviously I know this is a lot of work. It will require everyone to be sending postal mail a very long way at least every other day. Also, as far as locale and finances. We're all going to have to save money, all involved. I suggest a savings account. Just keep putting money aside, however much. Then, when we get the word that all our hard work has paid off, we'll (hopefully) have the money to attend. Now, if some people are short on money (people that have been helping) we should also be able to help them. I think it would be pretty cold if we all worked really hard and a couple people were short some money and none of us said "hey, I can help." You know? On the flip side, anyone who has not helped in the process wouldn't be getting our help. See? It just kind of works out. None of us would be totally paying someone's way, unless you just want to. But, rather, we'd be showing that we (as fans) can band together and make sure that everyone who worked gets to see the rewards. I also know some of you may be restricted from going such a long way from home by things other than money.... parents, school, work, etc. But, we all make sacrifices. Parents can be sweet talked, and bribed. School can be missed and made up. Work... eh, request time off. It's not like we won't have enough time in advance to do so. We're going to know way ahead of time, so everyone should have time to get such problems squared away. Also, think of how awesome such a large gathering of fans would be. Think also of this, from the band/artist's perspective: they're at that place because of all those fan's hard work!! How awesome of an experience for someone? To know that your fans have the ability to band together like that, and all (or most) manage to be there. Besides, then we all also get to be in one place, at the same time. That has major fun potential. That many fans of one band/artist in one place, on purpose. Leaving it at that. Just think about it. I'm going to need minimal amounts of help. I'm not the only leader over this, my best friend is the other master mind. I know this is going to be work ya'll, but the great things in life are hell to get!!! I'm in the process of learning Japanese, anyone who wants to help, I thank you now. Anyone who maybe knows someone in Japan or how to contact certain people in that business... big help. Let's band together, show these Jrockers what their American fans are made of!! Let's show them that we are as good as or better than their Japanese fans!!
