Ren, seriously you and DNT have helped me. I know I get attached to people too quickly and I'll probably sound like a freak for this but I really just don't care. I've noticed that we have very similar interests (Dreamweaver as well!) and issues in life seem to be along the same line. Seeing you guys go through these issues that I understand fully and am also going through gives me an odd courage. The thought of "we can do this together" is very encouraging... and hopeful. The same thing I get from Miyavi. So naturally I'm enthralled by this thread XD

Miyavi is really, really vain.

But that's how japanese people are to begin with. They tend to have very strong emotions of their nationality and upbringing and think they are better than everybody. Also, most rock stars inherit that trait as their popular and fame rise.

But it's okay because his vanity is overcompensated by his sporadic and random behavior. I love his goofyness, only someone as pretty as him could pull it off and not look stupid.

I also love his curiousity.. his albums are so dissimilar, it's crazy. That he would explore so many different styles of music.

He's definitely an unique individual, a musical genius, and a trendsetting model, and that's why he's my idol.

As for him being nice? it's hard to tell, have you seen him in person? talked to him? Seen him talk to "ordinary" people? Seen him do some overwhelmingly unselfish act? or even heard of him making large donations to any non-profitable organizations? I haven't.. but then again I'm not a super big fan, just an ordinary guy who thinks he is cool.

There are a lot of people out there who act nice but inside they are really selfish and greedy.. I AM BY NO MEANS SAYING MIYAVI IS SELFISH OR GREEDY (in fact I think the opposite, my opinion is that he's both humble and sensitive) but I have met many people who act nice who aren't.

A guy in particular: I used to be his friend, he talks and acts sweet but was a totally ******-up, self-centered, *******. But all the girls he hung out with thought he was "a nice guy" and it totally killed me. He's not the only one.

I noticed all the people posting in this thread are girls, so I'm telling you ladies, from a guy's pespective- guys are evil and can put up a good act.

ONCE AGAIN I AM NOT SAYING MIYAVI IS EVIL.

He is in fact my hero.

I dunno, I'm usually really good when it comes to reading people. His vanity seems to be an act. That or he's an incredibly actor by making us think that he's just acting. Maybe he really is self centered and has purposely tricked us into thinking he's sentimental by the lyrics in his songs <<

I'm sorry that came out very vicious and I didn't mean it like that but really. I just can't see him vain or self centered. It doesn't fit his music. =\
 
Nooo... you're totally right. I haven't listened to enough of his music,just a little bit ._. I've been trying to get my hands on some because I have free time lately. So I truly don't know much about him..

I do think he's a nice guy and I have watched a few music videos and utube interviews and things on him, and also concluded that he is funny and sensitive.

But you can kind of pick up on his vanity on the small things he does.. like how pretentiously he dresses(I love it, I dress not-so-normal myself). And due le quartz breaking up, you know he was secreting planning on breaking up because he was getting so popular? and not telling the other members. He also kept some of the music he wrote while in due le quartz for himself. just stuff like that.

But he does seem genuinely nice. Nobody is totally perfect!
 
^ Yeah, I knew we'd get that eventually. No one is perfect, if he has a kick *** song from DLQ, by all mean keep, if it's hot and all. I know, we don't know him. I know, we've never met him. I know, we've never spoken to him. But I will say this... Miyavi speaks to us.

Have you ever read his journal? It's full of so much personal things that he doesn't have to share, he just does because he makes it an key issue to let his fans know what's going on with him.

It's not for sympathy, it's because he doesn't want his fans to worry for him. Not to mention, he doesn't want his personal business in some tabloid, so that's why he writes to us, so things don't get twisted.

His lyrics are another thing. Sometimes he writes song that really deals with what's going on with him. Like "Kekkonshiki no Uta~Wedding March", it's a song all about how his ex gf screwed him over by cheating on him, marrying the guy she cheated with AND having the balls to ask Meev to perform at her wedding. The gull of some people~

In anycase, he wrote about this in his journal. He said he was hurt and he really wanted to tell her "**** You" with a smile on his face, however he didn't because he couldn't bring himself to because he loved this women at one point.

I don't think his genuine personality is an act because I don't think he would go through so much trouble to tell us about himself.
 
Detox, I understand what you're saying. But do remember idols are meant to put up a "stage act."

The way he dresses... that's not always up to him, I'm sure. He is an idol and I'm sure he's told to dress a certain way. I really don't know too much about the whole Due'le Quartz break up, so I can't really comment on that...
But he writes music. It's what he does. It's who he is. I'm sure he wrote things that were personal to him that he didn't want his band to release. =\

His journal is posted on his home page... I don't know if you can read it XD
These people translate his journal entries. For us less knowing people who can't read Japanese =P
 
Indeed, Meev is a fotus model. So most of the time, he get's told what clothing he has to wear by the reps. at Fotus Ltd.

Well one day i ventured in here and as soon as i set eye's on him i liked him not becouse of looks or style but becouse he just gave off this tender insocure thing

It kind of says i understad becouse i'v been there and i'm underneath all this don't forget to look

I don't think Miyavi is vain i think the total opisite i think he wears a mask and his lyrics are a way of asking you to look under it

I'v only ever liked Three other people the moment i saw them :-)

no, nobody perfect...but he can be total serious one minute then start doing soemthing like that the next.

about him being nice...i've seen a few lives where after he signs stuff...and he seems generally intred and happy at teh people there. and is really nice to them. but then again, ive also seen stuff where fangirls who have no brains follow him and try to like..molest him or soemthing. i cant stand that. just give the guy some space and let him walk to his car to chrissake!

yeah, i have a real problem with people like that.

like, if i saw him on the street id go..thats miyavi...then wonder how the heck i got to japan.

eventhough he takes to stardom like a fish to water he seems very humble.well, like hes got a good head on his shoulders to know that though hes got talent, hes got fans, and because of the fans hes as big as he is.

and if its all an act, he should get all the oscars ever.
