So do I. Congratulations anyone!!!! So what's next???? xD
Congratulations!!!! Kok Wai too! So next is let your professors know I guess? Haha. Cause we still have to wait for the package to arrive from the embassy first.
Yea, but will it be better for us to notify our professors that we have passed the First screening process? The package is expected to arrive on 6th of August. This year round number of recipients were almost the same as last year. ^_^
Yeah you should probably let them know because you don't wanna send the documents to your university unannounced right? Haha. I think you should contact the International Division of your university as well if I'm not mistaken. But yeah just let your professors know about it and see if there's procedure to follow.
Anyone knows if the embassy is going to send the documents (especially the Passing Certificate of Primary Screening) in how many sets/copies? Cause I need to send to send to 2 universities so I hope they don't send us only one copy of the certificate...
I think we will get back the documents submitted last time during interview session, because in there was 3 sets full sets in total. Since it stated that we can send at most 3 LPA documents, then i sure they may prepare for us as well. Anyway, this is what i think of. =)
Anyway, if you have any update just post it here so we can share. =D
Thanks guys. I emailed Ms Yin this morning regarding this and it seems like she is away til 30th August!! Must be on long holiday.
Really? Can you update us as well once you have received clarification from Miss Yin? Thanks in advance^_^
In her out of office email, it states that if there's any education emergencies. You may contact Ms Noraini. I haven't contact her yet. Will try after the raya holidays.
Congrats to all those who have been nominated. Here in Nigeria, our screening exam and interview comes up next week Monday and Thursday respectively.
Thank you.
Both will be taking place on the same week? That's nice and wish you the best. ^_^
Hello! Nice to meet you all. I'm another embassy recommended candidate
I'm a little concerned about the Letter of Acceptance. Here is my situation: I have contacted all of my prospective advisors; first one by post since the university asked for my documents and the others by email. For the first one according to their FAQ it would take a month or so to obtain a response from them...nothing I can do but wait. The second one (the professor itself) answered my email and after a little review of my research plan he said (and I quote) "I would be pleased to say that our lab will admit you if your application to MEXT is approved. All the best for your application." Good news I think...but he didn't sign the Letter of Provisional AcceptanceI asked for it and I been waiting for an answer 14 days...I don't know if I should insist.
For the third one is almost the same. The professor put some requirements to be my supervisor and in case I accepted he wanted me to let him know so he could start the procedure with his department. I told him it was ok but I didn't receive any response after that...and now it has been almost 20 days...
Is this normal? Should I insist? They have been very kind and I don't want to be rude :?
Hello rider. Welcome to the forum.
I suggest you send a follow-up email as most, if not all, professors in Japan are on summer break. You can kindly ask your professors if they have received your previous email and just gently remind them that they need to fill in the Letter of Provisional Acceptance so you can send it back to the embassy on time.
Hope this helps.
I write because I'm wondering if someone knows whether the provisional letter of acceptance can be submitted through email? I emailed my consulate but since it is the week end, still no answer from the nice lady there. My professor lives in another city far from Nagoya for the summer and she's worried she needs to stamp the letter with her stamp. So does any of you, or some of your friends, know if everything can be done through email, and, if only the department needs to stamp the document?
Thanks to whoever replies and good luck to everyone still waiting!!!
Hey Michel,
concerning your question about gettin the provisional letter of acceptance by email - this is optional. For instance, I had to send all the documents from the screening in 2 sets of photocopies to Waseda by air mail. My second choice is Juntendo ( also in Tokyo) and they werent so picky, scanned documents and sent by emal was enough.
So, I would recommend you to ask about this manner someone at international office in your uni.
My major gonna be Sport and Health Sciences ( graduated as a pharmacist) and due to this field Tokyo seemed mostly suitable...but as you said, much of distraction in this city.
