If it is possible, please, kindly, help me with meaning of 正面から in the sentence below:
シュノーケルはわたしの表情をちらりとうかがったが、くまの顔を正面から見ようとはしない。
Maybe it is possible to interpret this sentence as:
Snorkel gave a glance at my face expression, but [he] did not try to look straightly at bear's face.
But I am not sure with 正面から. Could it describe the way we can look at things - directly, from under the brows, etc... :?
Another question is - can we replace から with に as in below:
・・・くまの顔を正面に見ようしない。
