Meaning of うえに and ～とみる

If it is possible, please, kindly, help me to translate second sentence:

どうもやはり少々大時代なくまである。
大時代なうえに理屈を好むとみた。

Maybe first sentence could be translated as:

It was very obvious, he is somewhat antiquated bear.

Whereas second is little bit unclear because I am not sure about meanings of うえに and とみた :?

Xのうえに == in addition to X

Xとみた == X is how I saw it

Thank you very much for your help. I have rechecked the sentence again.
But it was exactly same as in the book.

Also I have found some explanation on Net which stated that
～とみる is same as ～とする and means "to suppose". Although I could not find it in dictionary.

hehe, dont be sorry, i make many mistakes, especially a lot of 返還ミス。

with Toritoribe-san's help, now I understand.
Ive also learned なうえに in this thread.. I thought that might be a typo too, but now I understand it
