Me.

Yo I'm Derek that's not my real name tho. I enjoy writing piggy fanfics playing blink-182 songs on piano guitar and bass.
Welcome! What's a piggy fanfic? I cannot hear piggy without thinking of the Beatles song Piggies.

Hi Derek,

What are your interests regarding Japan?

Welcome to Jref! Or is it JRef? JREF? In my head it's always "Jay-Ref".

That's funny. The one combination I didn't mention. LOL

How do you say 100 in Japanese? I can count up to 99 but that's it.

One hundred is hyaku.

Sometimes you would say ippyaku, which is actually a contraction of ichi and hyaku.

Had to look up that game. Looks like mean bacon , LOL.

You need to look up Roblox piggy. Piggy hunt is a stupid ripoff

I think the last time I played a game on my computer was in the early 1980's on my Commadore 64. I guess I'm not up to snuff on new things , LOL.

It's JREF(tm).

What is Daiji?

I wondered about that too , LOL I took a leap of faith and figured he meant Kanji .

Derek,

Would you like to learn the Japanese writing system called hiragana?

I wondered about that too , LOL I took a leap of faith and figured he meant Kanji .

You are right in a way. Daiji is a set of kanji used in legal and financial documents to prevent forgeries. In essence, numbers. Ichi nee san shi go Roku shichi hachi kyu ju…

@Buntaro

When do we start lessons?
If you take the time to look at old posts on Japanese here , there is probably enough info to fill 10 text books on Japanese. I think over the years , every question a person learning Japanese has , has been covered here. Finding sites where you can listen to Japanese being spoken is a good idea to get pronunciation right. I bet being in California , you can find a Japanese teacher to help you for not to much money. Sometimes you can find night school classes that don't cost much. For me , I found if I couldn't use my Japanese almost everyday , my ability faded away. It might be worth checking if you have any Japanese school classmates who could help you also.

Yes, Japanese is taught at Bakersfield college, and I live in Bakersfield.
