Are all hotels in Japan made for the purpose of having sex?

I wonder if the one I stayed at with my Japanese ex girlfriend Junko, was different than the others? I think it was called "T (and apple image)" in its logo and was located in Osaka.

This could be interesting to know, because the fact that she picked it... and it looked like it was entirely the "Love Hotel" totaly discrete and private, entrance and exit located on oposite sides of the building for more privacy, automatic pay, and reception area with no stuff. It was fully equipped with all you need to "have a good time"...with your partner.

I have to admit I got scared when I turned TV set on that was almost entirely porn with exceptions of 2 news channels, and when I've opened the closet to get an extra tea bag...an all the sex toys were next to the tea bags.

Do I need to mention the bed that occupied most of the room..and that could easly fit at least... 3 couples? Shower cabin that could feet entire soccer team...And those cute unisex knee hight aprons...we had to wear.


I wonder if all hotels in Japan are like that, or if she picked just the right hotel for the purpose of our stay there?

no not all. ive stayed in both and they are easy to tell what is what... well so it seems for me anyway

In a country where privacy is a rare thing, and where young couples especially really have their own private space, a love hotel is the only option for a young couple to explore their relationship.
Many Japanese homes are shared by more then one person or have waffer thin walls, at least when sound is concerned.
I've never been to a love hotel myself, but its not that much different then british couples going away to a hotel for a dirty weekend, were just too british and uptight about sex to admit that hotels are used for the express purpouse of having somewhere to f***.
So yeah, in your ongoing journey of exploring and over-analyzing this Junko chick, the intentions of her choice of hotel isnt going to be one of your concerns.
She is 19, probably living with her family, you were a young american soldier, you can bet you wouldnt have privacy, hence, The love hotel was the only option for making Marvin Gaye blush.

Well, is really the first time I ever discussed that matter with people who are either Japanese or have been to Japan...and Junko just did things with me, she acted as a hostes most of time and I was just a foreign guy in the strange land ..She never explained much what her intentions where...And as far as I'm concerned she wanted to have relationship with me..

But the thing is that she took me to "Love hotel" even for the first night, when we barely knew each other, and I told her I just wanted to get some sleep. That must clarify her intentions..if it was not for her I wouldn't dare to initiate intimacy. That's why I'm analising it now...
