I saw 'Attack at the Gas Station' and 'Break Out' - both coincidentally Korean comedies. I liked 'Attack' especially, but then 'Break Out' was funny, with the additional bonus of having two cute actors, and that nutty guy from the first film. (argh how do you make photos smaller so I can put 'em in here?). Nix the photos of cute guys. Anyhoo...so I decided to search Korean comedy on the web and found this article:
Southeast Asia's Airlines Are Pretty Much No More Dangerous Than American Ones
I was suprised, since I just watched 2 funny Korean movies, that they said Koreans had a reputation for "people who lack humor". So what do you think -true, not true? Did you agree or disagree with the article? I think oppression can breed humor as well, it's a way to deal.
Also, tell me about Korean comedy, what's it like? And any recommendations for fave comedians, and comedy films? I think this was touched upon in another thread, but I've been wanting to start this thread for awhile.
Ok I think I found a way to show those cutie guys - ( sorry - it seems comedians are my pop stars, if you're a straight guy - never mind!) under "pictures" top row, 3rd and 4th pics
Break Out (Korean Movie, 2002, 라이터를 켜라)
(now it's a miracle if those both work)
