Every Good and Humanly action is commendable.

When I was watching this video I imagined, he was similar to Mr. Grandpa Frank, not only in terms of his figure, but because I know he loves cats intensely, and the one who loves cats, he loves other creatures certainly :)

I can't wait for the deep snow to melt so I can start feeding my backyard zoo. Each year I get 3 to 4 baby raccoons ,a couple possums and usually at least 1 groundhog. I had to stop feeding the squirrels because the hid food in my car's engine compartment and chewed all my engine wires up. When I go out in the daytime , I have to carry dog biscuits because it seems everyone on my street has a dog to walk. I always hope the story of the "Rainbow Bridge" is true so I can see all my pets again some day.

Having read a little about 'The Dog Shōgun ', Tsunayoshi Tokugawa, I've ordered an in-depth book to learn more about him. He outlawed violence towards to all animals (even swatting flies) and being an animal admirer and 'vegetarian who always takes the vegan option' I wanted to see if he was way ahead of his time or eccentric!

This one? That's probably the most comprehensive work on Tsunayoshi in English language.

The copy below fell prey to one of our dogs when he was still a puppy.

I believe in being kind to animals, but don't believe in being vegetarian. Having not meat more than 40 days turns the person into being bad-tempered. It is a definite rule of the human's nature and physiology.

Oh, excuse me, I didn't know you were a vegetarian! I think it was better I used " nervous and intolerant".

However, it is true. Respectfully; I think vegetarians have experienced it unwillingly.

Oh that's ok! If some people give up chocolate/beer/cigarettes they become 'nervous and intolerant'.

Ha ha, you're funny! 😂🤣

They are different and have different short effects, if they are left. Meat is a particular and necessary natural food for human's body (physiologically and metabolically), if it is ignored for a along time would affect his temper.

I and many millions of others haven't ever eaten meat and I, at the very least, am very temperate as you can tell by this post 😉

I'm amazed you have the courage to argue with a doctor/physiologist! You're very brave and you are very wrong.

That's the way of the world at the moment, unfortunately. People without any education in a particular area deciding that they know more than people who have studied the subject in depth. One of the things I like about Japan is the value that people attach to education.

And kindness to animals should extend to all animals, including the ones raised and killed out of sight for humans to eat and use their products.

If he'd simply prefaced his statement with 'In my personal experience...' I would've let it go.

I think a generation has been brought up to believe that their opinions are as valid as the next person's. This isn't the case: my opinion on, say, physical exercise isn't as meaningful as a personal trainer's.

'Children's stories 'bout their farmyard favourites, as the table in a different disguise...'

I am a lover to technology and developed medical science with the great modern diagnostic and surgery tools and devices that are undeniable. Nevertheless there are many physiological secrets and mysteries that scientists have not yet discovered them (they confess to this matter). One of the examples is cancer. Although, scientists have discovered that disease happen due to a genetic disorder, but don't know, what is the cause of that disorder is some persons.

They have opined based on some theories, some substances and foods are the reason of the genetic changes, among smoking, but it has not proved practically. Some smokers live up to 100 years and some Non-smokers and even children get cancer unreasonably. That shows, medical scientists are encountered many unknown and mysterious matters in physiology and medical sciences. Even God himself confirm medical science as a basic method of treatment. Let me to tell you a real story in this case:

The prophet Moses got a sickness. The believers around him said to him, " let to bring you a doctor". When doctor came, prescribed some medicine for him He refused and said, "I don't need those medicines, God will cure me himself"!

Afterward, whatever Moses waited for God to heal him, it didn't happen! He complained to God, "O God, why don't you cure me". God inspired him, " I don't cure you unless you use your medicines. Don't you know, the medicines are from me?" Moses took all the medicines and was healed.

After a few years Moses got the same disease and send someone to inform the doctor. When the doctor came, prescribed the same medicines for him. Moses used all the medicines, but he was not cured after a few days. This time Moses complained to God, " My God, as you ordered me before, I used all the medicines, but I was not treated. God inspired him, " this time you only trusted on the medicines absolutely and paid no attention to me that I am the creator and (final) healer".

One of the fields that medical scientists have not researched about it anymore is, "the relation between physiology and spirit (or mood) in human". Prohibition of eating meat take place is in this category.

Such research was very popular until about the 18th century (look up 'the humours'). Scientists stopped researching it because they found it to be invalid.

And you cannot use 'medical research does not have all the answers' to make ridiculous claims about vegetarians.

I don't know what the researchers did before 18th (in which way and with what knowledge). Probably the researches was a series of baseless theory out of science that was considered invalid later.

But I bring a simple example to ensure you "the relation between physiology and spirit" is true and is not invalid.

Opium, morphine, cocaine, cannabis, LSD, LAS and similar drugs!

They affect on the human's body (or even animals) physiologically, but their effects appear in the temper or mood of the user. When somebody smoke opium or cannabis, he become very relaxed and happy. Somebodies who use cannabis, laugh a lot. The overt effect of the cannabis or marijuana appears on the eyes that turn into red notably, physiologically, but the person's state and behaviors show some changes in his temper or mood.

So, using some substances or shortage of them affect the spirit of the person directly.

The fact that drugs affect people's mood is undisputed, and I would never deny the link between what we put into our bodies and our mood.
But your assertion about vegetarians is both ridiculous and evidence-free.

First of all, excuse me for being late. After a few years of being deprived of fasting, this year I could fast until now ( 25 days- And there are 5 more days left until the end of the fast month, Ramadan). In those years, I thought, I could not fast due to my heart surgery (10 years ago -blockage of three arteries, 40%, 50%, and 80% ) and also the weakness due to inactivity (I often lie down in front of my computer on the floor).

This year, I requested God to make me successful in fasting, and it happened. So, I was able to fast during these days without any problem. I have my pills before dawn (1 Aspirin, 1 Atorsatatin "for reducing blood fat", and 1/4 Metroal " for heart regulation"). Of course, Islam has prohibited fasting for those who have serious sickness or weakness, and when fasting is hazardous for them, if they fast by themselves, they not only have not done good work but have not obey God (it is a Haram action for the people with serious sickness).

However, I have to cook for myself at night or before dawn ( I usually marinate the pieces of chicken with salt, turmeric, black pepper, and orange juice a day before and grill it before dawn as fast food). The fasting is just from dawn to after sundown. A person who is fasting is not allowed to eat or drink anything or smoke ( It's harder for me to not smoke than to not eat or drink. After sundown I usually smoke a cigarette before eat or drink anything! It is called the pressure of addiction to cigarette...hahaha ).

Anyhow, this year I am very happy and have not any depression or worry about the future. My body has been cleaned from extra or even hazardous substances and my character has been steady and firm. I can tell in a box that fasting is unique and is a great gift from God.

How can I prove it?

As I pointed out before, it can be proved practically by the vegetarians themselves (honestly) or the people around them (change in their behaviors and reactions).

There are roughly 200 million vegetarians in India. So they are all in a bad mood and have bad behaviors?

Anyway as you say, eating animals is important. It is well known that pork is best meat for humans. And people who eat pork are the happiest.

Hahahah....

Dear mdchachi

I know you want to confront me with Indians, because a group of them are vegetarian, and confront me with Christians because they eat pork, whereas Muslims don't have it at all. You used this fine policy in different topics to engage me with such issues. LOL

However, ignoring eating meat for more than 40 days has the same result I pointed out before, but it is not overt for others. A type of hidden struggle or fight occurs in vegetarians and appears when they are provoked because of an issue. I used an inner struggle or fight, it is better I express, that they are under psychological stress that may blow in a particular situation.

Please note; my purpose is not to condemn vegetarians. Canceling meat from the food recipe is not a guilt (even for a Muslim) and they can choose this manner of nutrition, but I mentioned its result.

But about pork:

Some people are Christian and Christianity is considered one of the few formal (divinity) religions in Islam, though it was changed somehow after Jesus (peace be upon him). Years after Jesus, people began eating pork, but he didn't eat that food ( it started in some churches later).

However, Christians are respectable in Islam and have their own traditions and rituals and Muslims don't interfere in their manner of religiosity and living.

For example, a group of Shiraz citizens are Christian and a group is Jewish. Although Shiraz is my birthplace, but I from my childhood up to now have never stepped into their churches to see what they do and how they hold their ceremonies (what I have seen is only through some movies, TV, magazines, and the internet).

We don't eat pork at all, though seems delicious in the taste of Christians LOL
