Has anyone seen this movie ? It won sometype of award a couple of years ago in Cannes. I managed to see in in local tv station, and I thought it was simply hilarious. Since then I tried to rent it, dload it, but is very rare to find, at least here.

An amusing movie, but not quite one of Kitano's better ones, aside from the Soundtrack done by Joe Hisaishi (who does most, if not all, of Hayao Miyazaki's movies).
One thing I didn't think was good was the continual wrongdoings done by Kitano's character just to get things done, since it implied that if you are persistent in doing things the wrong way, eventually, you'll get your way.....the wrong message to be sending to the youths in Japan, who are already having problems with interpersonal relations with each other.....

I'm glad someone else saw this movie as well. I gues you are rights about the points you are stressing, but for me it was a very good movie in general. I don't come across many Japanese films so, maybe the exuberance over actually getting to see one added to my enjoyment factor.
