Hi,

All the Kanji books show the numbers from 1-10 using the simple style, but I know for chinese banks they won't allow you to write numbers that way (you could change a 1 to a 3, etc). The numbers on loan documents, etc use the very complicated style. I imagine japanese is the same.

Anyone know where I can find the formal/business kanji for numbers ? None of my kanji books have it.

thx

Just to interject common logic, they might put the number (word) in it, like Americans?

"The client agrees that the money will be kept in the bank for 4 (four) years."

It's called 大字[daiji] in Japanese.

cool. the chinese use the right hand ones listed as obsolete in japanese. I'm suprised none of the kanji books cover it.

Seems to me as a #1 topic for kanji for business.

Thx!
