When I clicked the link it looked like a dating site in disguise
I decided not to proceed, as I figured that if I wanted to make friends, I could do it over the forums, and not wast my time on what is possibly a dating site.

There are things like "AdBlock" which you can set up to permanently remove from view any elements you don't wish to see. (I like to use it to block smilies, annoying animated avatars, and sig file images pulled from anime/manga).

The elements users don't wish to see are the elements that keep this site running. It's not just time and effort invested, but also a lot of financial means involved: server fees, software, license fees, upgrades, etc.

A few clicks on these elements help us maintain JREF. Adblock doesn't.

Oh, and the JREF Bentley needs refilling too.
