Great thread, Frank ! I have also thought about this before. In my case, not all forum members are unknown faces, as I have met at least a handful of you. But unknown face or not, I totally agree with Lexico when he says: "I'm as attached to my forum friends (and enemies), either as close friends (enemies) for various things we shared (fought over), or as acquaintances who politely shared this common playground in all good fun (in good verbal arguments fought out to the end). "
Some people decide to change username, but do not disappear... She may have deleted some of her posts by herself though.
