JR Pass and the new Hokuriku Shinkansen

Hi,

I'm planning a trip to Japan for July and I've been told by a friend that the new maglev shinkansen will be up and running by then. My idea is to buy a JR pass for the two weeks I'll be staying there and I was wondering if anybody knows whether the JR pass will be valid for the new train, as it already comes with certain limitations.
