Konnichiwa!

I've always been a fan of the often unique Japanese commercials so that's the reason I started this new project (I refer to it as JPCMHD for Japanese Commercials in High Definition). Here is how it looks:



In this website I'll be sharing many of the current commercials that air on most of the high definition japanese channels and anyone will be able to download them for later viewing or just for collection purposes.

Every commercial has its own tags and at the top of the page there are several commercials categories such as Celebs CM, JPop CM, Idols CM, Beverages CM and so on for an easier access.

Since february, I've shared more than 400 commercials and my goal is to create the largest online database of Japanese commercials in high definition because I'm of the opinion that they are a great way to discover the pop culture of Japan.

How about actually being able to watch them before downloading...
Or is this simply a download site?

Hi Miguel,

in fact, this project began as a Youtube Channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/JPCMHD) but I had to stop uploading to Youtube because of the copyright strikes my videos were getting. That's the reason I switched to the website idea with direct download links to the commercials.

Most of them are 20-50MB in size; do you think that's big?

I agree that if this site were a video site with the layout just like you have now, but instead of having to download, when you click on one you can watch it.

Downloading is a mission and only the more dedicated will go through the effort, especially since it seems (this may be wrong, I only looked for a second) that the files arent hosted on your site and one has to go to another site and then download. More click means less people want to do it. It's crap but it's true.

Otherwise, awesome site and awesome collection of content. Keep working on it.

And, yeah, shame about copyright laws...

I understand that downloading the commercials from external sites can be annoying but, right know, I can't afford to host them myself.
