JLPT Kanji Study and Test made easy with I-Phone

Fidel had launched this unique iPhone application, under "Learn Languages" series, to help students appearing for Japanese Language Proficiency Test ( JLPT ) examination.
A part of JLPT new syllabus examination is mastering Kanji. It is primarily for those interested in mastering the Kanji that are likely to appear in the exam. The application contains around 2000 Kanji, along with their "on-yomi" (Chinese Reading) and "kun-yomi" (Japanese Reading) readings and their equivalent English meanings. Each Kanji will also have its "jukugo" (combination of two or more Kanji) readings.

It stands for Spaced Repetition System. Anki is an example. Basically, some sort of flash card system (though it doesn't have to be flash cards) that quizzes you on whatever you want over regular intervals. I know for Anki it will lengthen the time between when you see a card again based on how well you memorized it.

Yeah, I figured they were all the same algorithm. Mnemosyne may be the most well-known and oldest. The one I use is Surusu. You score yourself on how well you answered a question, and based on that it decides when you need to see it again to optimize learning by not showing you something you know too much, or letting something completely disappear from memory by not coming up at all.

Hi,

I have been using aedict which is an andriod application and can be used with andriod phones. It is a free application and can work offline. I found a way to use aedict in PCs/Laptops also using an emulator. If you don't have an andriod phone also, you can still use it. The instructions for using aedict in PCs is given in my blog - which you can search using google as two words "aedict pc"

Hmmm... I would? It's great cause I don't want to carry around a netbook, and the iPhone is always with me anyways. iPhone's great for studying kanji and vocabulary. It could also work well for more advanced grammar were anyone to create such an application, small screens aren't a hindrance to a well laid out application.
