Just got back from the level 3 test. I have to say, I felt pretty discouraged after the vocab section in the first part. Lots of words I just didn't know. The kanji was pretty easy though. Listening was tough, as expected. But the grammar and reading comprehension section was pretty straighforward. I finished it with 25 minutes remaining which gave me plenty of time to go back through it and check my answers - ended up finding two mistakes (where I'd mistakenly coloured in the wrong circles!)

So how did everyone else go?

I took the 2006 JLPT2. Two words to describe it - really difficult!.

The moji-goi section was OK. I found the listening section for this year's JLPT2 harder than 2005's. The grammar was fairly easy BUT

読解は試練のセクションだった!

I couldn't complete all the reading comprehension questions & I had to guess. BTW, I tackled the short passages 1st.

I guessed a string of mostly 1's for my first seven dokkai-bunpou questions :( . How did everyone answer those? Pls share your answers to those seven questions.

なんて言っていいか分からない。。。

最も難しい部門は何?

時間の無駄でしたか?:p

思ったよりもましかも? 、日本語能力試験3級はBuckoさんが思っていたより難しかったの?

この次はがんばって?

難しい言葉も知っているので勉強もしやすいと 思いますよ。

受けるといいね。。。:)

So, I took 一級 this year...
The listening part was a bit hard, but everything else was really, really easy, especially 文字・語彙, since they used lots of kanji that appeared in past tests (迅速、飽和、澄む, etc), and the grammar in 読解・文法, which was simply ridiculous.
I would have to agree with Elizabeth that it was kinda of a waste of time. Well, at least it made me study more.😅
受けるといいね。。。
「受かる」じゃん?

I wish I'd had two more weeks to study kanji from past tests. That was my biggest weak point, though it was my strongest section on level 2. The listening questions about the subway map and the movies were evil. It was sneaky of them to introduce that new type of listening question (for #15 and #30). Wasn't ready for #15.

Pretty sure I passed though. Nothing to do now but wait 2 1/2 months for the results.

I'm thinking of taking such tests in the future. Is there a possibility I can see what kind of questions you got? 😌

2級受けた人です!

Kanji and vocabulary: Pretty easy, though there were a few tricky kanji. But mainly just reverse-ordered tricky as opposed to I-haven't-the-foggiest tricky. Prediction -70%

Listening: Not so bad. A few last minute switchbacks/words I didn't catch. Prediction 70%

Reading/Grammar: Reading was a godsend, as the diary section was unbelivably easy. The REM sleep section also wasn't that bad --though I'm sure I made at least one screw-up. Same with the phone call question. Grammar was a breeze. Prediction 65%

It's gonna be close.

I took the level 1 (again) this year. While I think I improved over last years 60.75%, I doubt I will break 65%. I've had WAAAAY to much lame-o crap going on my life the last 3 months to have put the necessary time in to study. The listening portion was harder for me than previous years (probably due to my inability to concentrate lately) and I had a few tricky parts in the vocabulary.

The ironic thing: As w/ last year, I'm sure I did much better on the reading and grammar than the otehr two. Maybe next year.
