Hi folks, this seems to be the right place for my inquiry, and I thank you kindly in advance!
My brother traveled to Japan and because he is a very nice brother, brought me back an awesome present in the form of a gorgeous kitchen knife. Says he got it in Tokyo in some alley market where many knife makers were to be found. All inscriptions on it are in Japanese, and I'm looking for something like a brand, model, artisan (I'm pretty sure it's handmade and the craftsmanship is beautiful) etc... anything that tells me a lil more about it, where it comes from, that sort of thing and particularly the inscription on the blade.
Attached is a collage picture of all inscriptions on the knife and the box it came in. I am assuming the long text on the pamphlet is mostly caring instructions, I don't need that translated, but I included the text anyway in case somewhere in there is more relevant info. Thank you very much!
If anyone is interested, I can post a full view picture of the knife itself :)

Beautiful Japanese Knife is a mistery! Help with inscriptions?

Damascus steel, mahogany handle, 160mm blade, keep out of the reach of small children.

By the way, this thing is NOT stainless steel, so they recommend carefully wiping off all water and then rubbing a bit of salad oil on it prior to putting it away.

I couldn't make out the name of the maker.

Thanks Mike, that's info I didn't have right there, so much appreciated.
Anyone else?

The inscribed mark is 登録 隆久[Tōroku Takahisa] "Trade mark Takahisa". Probably the name of the knifesmith is 源隆久[Minamoto Takahisa].

I don't know much about knives but apparently the Japanese the best knifes. And Shun is consider the best brand by most people.

Ah that's great Toritoribe, exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much!
Best is always a tricky label to assign, but it is certainly a very good and gorgeous knife FW.

My heartfelt thanks to your community, you guys are great!
